Sorry I never knowed about that Burger Time sorry, and yes sorry the bad writting but I want to do some practise in progaming (because It will be my future) but also want to make more love to the system for that I will make more games with some ideas here and there. and Thnx RevEng, I will enjoy progaming for the system.
Now I don't feel weird about that little kiss I gave my 7800. Bring the love. More games = more fun. Looking forward to Missile Command.

A very interesting machine indeed. I was reading about it on their website. The FPGA sounds very flexible and liberating for designers. It will be exciting to see where this goes.

Sealed 2600 Gravitar and wireless Genesis controllers = smooth transaction. I appreciate the care you take in packing. Thank you.

Very happy with PS1 games and NES clone controllers I got from Osgeld.

I just scanned the above. Didn't see it mentioned but I may have missed it, the ST will boot faster with a disk in drive (720k).

You could buy the clear acrylic extra toilet paper roll for $9.99 though clear acrylic might not be as comfortable to wipe with.I guess we better start wiping with our hands now?!?!

A giant chocolate chip cookie with happy fathers day written on in frosting. All the kids and grandkids visited. Then wife and I went for a bicycle ride. I rode my 1981 vintage 12 speed.

I have done several AV mods on 2600, 5200 and 7800. I generally like the modded output better than RF. That doesn't mean that you can't get a decent picture from RF in many cases.
It seems to me that RF output quality varies from unit to unit. One thing that helps is to clean the jack and use good quality cable. If you solder, also reflow the solder where the RF unit connects to the main board and make sure the RF shield ground is well soldered.
I actually came across a 7800 the other day that had no RF video out. I cleaned the channel select switch and the RF jack, reflowed the contacts and now the RF signal is so good I can't justify modding it.
Oh, I also use the F plug (I guess that is what they are called) rather than the RF switchbox to connect to the TV.

I can see all of the text now. When it runs first time high score says 02A900. When the game ends high score changes to 000000. Sometimes one of the vortex just sits in the middle so I can walk over and touch it.
Thank you for making the player bigger ☺
Have I got the world record score on"Awesome Title" yet?

My wife needs to read this. Maybe she would be more understanding about my "valuable" old machines.

It is a shame that it is hard to find this stuff local and cheaply.
On the other hand, why would you want to collect things that have no value? Isn't that called hoarding?
People placing value on our old games might be a good thing. The stuff that is out there now gets protected in glass cases rather than burried under a box of books and some sporting equipment or recycled or trashed.
I had a conversation with a pawn broker many years ago. I was about to leave his store when he asked me what I was looking for and I told him Atari games. He searched around under the counter and pulled out a box with some 2600 stuff and some jag games. I was surprised and happy and got my Tempest 2000 that day.
I asked the pawn broker why they were under the counter and not on display. He said Atari is dead man. I won't even take them in anymore - just not worth my time.
People have to eat and pay rent and they can't work for free. Life is full of choices and we get to vote for the things we like, the things we want people to produce and stock and preserve. We get to vote with dollars. If we are too stingy or the sellers are too greedy then it ruins the fun.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 1025 text-only, no graphics capability? Odd for a dot matrix unit...
I am not sure. I use my 1025 with my 800XL once in a while but don't recall if it does graphics. I usually use an interface and a Panasonic. Besides being faster and better resolution, I can use it with my other old machines like my ST.

I am also looking for an Atari compatible printer, but I want something pin-fed, for fan fold paper. Is the XMM-801 my only option without going third party?
Atari 1025 is tractor feed and well built. My sense is that most people back in the day went with third party printers. If you want to keep it all Atari though 1025 is a good printer.

Surely you will want to use printshop to make your own greeting cards. Interface and an Epson or compatible dot matrix is bliss.

Yep, I had a few water rockets until one landed on mom's car.
Here you go Bodyshots - different color is all.

Flush cut pliers are great to have if you do any system mods. They are also cheap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Electrical-Cutting-Pliers-Jewelry-Wire-Flush-Cable-Cutter-Side-Snips-5-18-AWG-/141491965014?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20f1940c56

That is the type of fun stuff we used to do in the good old days. Not any more. I went looking for model cement in the toy isle of W world. Didn't have it. Duh, kids can't have dangerous stuff like non edible glue. What was I thinking.Man those look like incredibly dangerous fun.

Awesome. You should really use the real tire shine though cause the off brand just don't last. Ha ha ha!

Retro VGS
in Modern Console Discussion
Posted · Edited by SIO2
Hard to say. I don't think I would laugh at it regardless but will I get one at launch? That depends on price, what it can do and what I believe it could do.
One thing I find strange is that they are preparing a custom controller when the system is capable of using Genesis, Atari or USB controllers. The FAQ talks a lot about keeping costs down. Clone Genesis controllers are pretty darn cheap. Unless they are getting a killer deal, I guess I don't understand the advantage of a new controller for a retro style system. A lot of people ditch the pack in controllers and get something that fits their own taste anyhow.
It is interesting that they say it is not like retron yet it can pretend to be an Atari or whatever system. So can adapters be created that would allow VGS to play Atari games from original carts? Could this thing be a universal Retron?
