Hello guys, not enough demand so far...
-
Prices: 1.Mono - 49 USD 2.Stereo Auto - 53 USD 3.Stereo with U1MB control - 53 USD 4.Stereo Auto plus Covox (4-channels) - 58 USD 5.Quad Auto - 63 USD 6.Quad Auto plus Covox - 63 USD Replies to above questions: 1.The 4-channels refer to Covox ? Yes. Irregardless of version, Covox has 4 channels, registers are mapped from $D280 to $D283. 2. If I choose a Quad Auto , can I use with U1MB ? Can it also be used as a Stereo Auto ? It can be used with U1MB, but cannot be controlled by U1MB, at least - yet. All versions except Stereo U1MB need a switch, which selects mono/all features. It can be used as a Stereo Auto, because you have 4 Pokeys, two of them are in the same place as in Stereo version. I know that manual is incomplete, but give me a few days more, I will update developer's section.
-
Early version of manual (not finished yet - lack of developer's guide) is here: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AiIXTNbzgkm2gbw1_S8LEm4NEF-ZWA?e=fIjNOq You can save this link, I will be updating it there. Schematics of connection for every version are included in this manual. For now, you can order from six versions: 1.Mono 2.Stereo Auto 3.Stereo with U1MB control 4.Stereo Auto plus Covox (4-channels) 5.Quad Auto 6.Quad Auto plus Covox It will be listed on ebay too.

You can still order them. Please contact me via orders(at)retronics.eu

It will be ready in a couple of days. Foft is also working on firmware to be available for download, but, JTAG connector on PokeyMAX needs a special adapter, therefore, it is rather for experienced people, and those having USB Blaster for programming Altera/Intel chips. I suggest to select firmware which will be used at the moment of purchase. I can also program FW later, but it would require shipping PokeyMAX here and there.
-
Sure, there will be a manual, in .pdf file, I will upload it here when it is ready (a few days max). Now it is still changing, and final diagram will depend on firmware used. But more or less, it will look like on diagram attached (do not use it yet, as it may change!)

If anyone wants Mono/Stereo/Stereo plus Covox PokeyMAX, still a few available. Price depends on demand, if it is bigger, price will get lower. For now, I produce them in small batches, as it is quite expensive to manufacture dozens of various versions. Foft is developing new PCB, with 4-layers and bigger chip. We need it for having more controlling pins for next audio chips to be put into it. Price will be slightly higher. Price is changing, because design is changing. I will strive to have the cheapest Mono replacements too.

Some more photos. This time full set of 100 titles! And this is not the end of this story.... -
First batch (sold out) was Mono or Stereo only. Now, we are awaiting bigger chip (59 USD), which can fit Quad Pokey with config register and maybe Covox. We are considering even bigger chip for SID or two and maybe YM2149 (AY3-8912) or two of them - everything depends on the size of code - but this chip will be even more expensive. Therefore, please do not order anything else than Mono/Stereo/Quad Pokey yet. Me and Mark (foft) will keep you informed about progress. Results are very promising and we are very excited!
-
For now, Mono, Stereo and Stereo with Covox are ready. You can transfer any currency, I use all (equivalent amount). Shipping worldwide is $9.
-
Mathy, PCB is the same, but it may change in the future - we will need more pins for controlling other features. Price depends on quantity ordered (parts, PCBs, assembling) - the more - the cheaper. However, I do not want to freeze a large amount of money and sell for a few years. If I would get, let's say 100 orders (100 pcs.) - price would be 20% less.
-
Buy two of them, if still available anywhere, and you will exceed this price easily..... This chip has 4 pokeys inside, and will have more sound chips!
-
Mathy, it was very first batch, with smaller chip, which has been sold out quickly. Now I am using bigger chip, it will allow foft to put there two SIDs, two or more Covoxes, maybe YM2149 (AY3-8912) and even Paula. That's why price is higher. Of course, it may be lower if demand is high - then I may produce bigger batches in lower price.

100 tapes set would cost A LOT.... That's why I encouraged for purchasing in sets of 10 from the beginning. One tape is $9, therefore whole set is $900. I may offer free shipping worldwide when purchasing 100. Of course, it is not the end of collection.... I am working on next 10 titles. Probably will stop with 150 or so. -
First initial batch arrived. Pre-order opened! This can be quad Pokey, Stereo Pokey or just Mono, being a 100% replacement for original pokey - everything depends on the firmware uploaded into chip. If anyone is interested in ordering it, please send an e-mail to orders(at)retronics.eu However, please keep in mind that shipping worldwide is now very complicated and huge delays may occur. We are going to start shipping soon, when final firmware version will be finished by foft. Many interesting features to come, including new configuration registers! Price of PokeyMAX is $59/pc.

I know that project well, and as I said in the past, I have over 200 polish titles preserved in my archive. Exact .cas files of originals, including copy protections. -

Of course I remember this. And, to be honest, I don't make any money on these releases, selling a few pieces of each, mostly in Poland. My goal is to save them from oblivion, nothing else. Even if they are available somewhere on the net, they are cracked versions, no manuals, etc. I always care about copyrights, some of my competitors - do not.... -

Fred_M, because I have license for it, I will re-release it. Thanks for letting me know! David: none of them. But if you'd like to have turbo versions, as I said, Gabi and Kuadryk have three copies on each side: Blizzard, Turbo 2000 and Normal. -
Gunstar, pps - please send me an e-mail or PM with your addresses, please. I will send new cases and labels.
