100th post!,, woohoo! Anywoohoo... I'd be willing to preorder this to help defray initial costs needed by by AA to produce, if you're interested
-
Perhaps an additional section highlighting some of the homebrew artwork from after the original "end" took place would be good to. I hi Juno First, Thrust, Princess Rescue, Ature, cave in, Dungeon, four-play, Chetiry, star castle arcade, BoulderDash, Blinky goes up, etc... all have exceptional art in their own right.

Pretty much. It shows up on ebay once in a while.

My turn to resurrect a slit lay old-ish thread. Anything going on with this title? I happened across some talk and pics about it on Twitter via the AtariAge account. Very curious about this title.

Curious if the same overbidding and backing out has occurred by johnsgirl2 on school girls auctions... Not curious enough to dig into though. Interesting coincidences though the amount of "flaking out" school girl has done that johnsgirl2 is relatively "ok" with....

Seems obvious to me that "schoolgirl" is another account for the same seller used specifically to bump pricing up... Ebay will eventually catch on and suspend both accounts... ...or not

I imagine there a significant amount of people on here that we're wondering how this project was coming along. I'm really looking forward to this! Can't wait to check it out

Very nice!

I'd be interested in something in between. Just a cart/ box/ manual without the additional movie paraphernalia would be fine for me. Basically the typical CIB release we usually see.

Pre-orders for Endless Snow 2600 now being accepted
dubxcube replied to rjchamp3's topic in Atari 2600
Yeah, it sucks. But you can tell that Rudy put a decent amount of effort into making sure the package was secure. Bubbleoped and then boxed and marked "fragile" on all sides. Not a huge deal, but I'm a collector and a player so I definately wanted a pristine box. Thanks again for stepping up to make it right, Rudy. I know it's not your fault. I'll PM you some pics tomorrow morning. -

Haven't tried the game yet, but it doesn't look like there's anything wrong with the cartridge. I appreciate you offering to fix it. I'll get you some pics by tomorrow morning at the latest. -

Rudy, Thought you'd wanna know that my copy arrived. Unfortunately the shipping box was partially crushed on one side. I pulled out the bubbleope and removed the package to find that it was mildly crushed on one of the side panels and the must have caused a corner of the cartridge itself to poke a small hole in the back of the package. This is laughable. He has seaweed assault and space rocks still in their AtariAge wrapper for nearly double the price they are available for here. Also, a Red Sea Crossing repro for that much? And I'm understand the increased value for BoulderDash and Princess Rescue because of either one time runs, or C&D's, but those prices seem excessive too. I'm going to have to watch this seller to see what he reposts his BIN prices at when the majority of these don't sell.

Nice! Love the classic look

What About "Ad Placement" in A homebrew to defrey costs?
dubxcube replied to wiseguyusa's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
I suppose the advertiser would have to review how much exposure he would get off the ad. Homebrew runs are generally in the 50-100 count range, from what I've seen on here. (Not counting BoulderDash and Princess Rescue) I just don't see much exposure coming from a home-made atari game sold to a relatively small (albeit active) group of enthusiasts. And I do agree with what jaybird3rd said about as inclusion in modern games. That being said, I think seeing a couple "modern-retro" billboards in the background of, say, JumpVCS, would not affect immersion. (Brands like Dunkin Donuts, Little Debbie, or existing retro sodas like Bubble Up, Faygo, or Moxie... I bet Jones Soda in Seattle would think it a cool idea to have their logo in an atari game... They seem to thrive on that kind of kitsch) -
I'm hoping this new technology will eventually allow for homages to games like Zelda, Another World, Prince of Persia, or a metroid-ish game like Shadow Complex, or... Metroid.

Thanks for the extension, nanochess... You'll have my payment before the 30th!

Source code release "Blinky Goes Up"
dubxcube replied to Jan Hermanns's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
That would be awesome... This is one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played. Frustrating sometimes, but laughably. Absolutely love it! -

This game is screaming for a sequel.... "Blinky Goes Up Again" or "Blinky Keeps Going Up" -

Just got my copy... If this is 4k, then you could conceivably get 30-40 levels on a 32k. (That's my basic math.. Not even close to understanding the programming world) Awesome game.. Very fun to play! -
Unless I misunderstood a conversation I had with Marc, boxes like Chetiry and PacMan 4k are only available thru AtariAge.

Buying Homebrews - Avoiding Knockoffs/Pirates
dubxcube replied to wiseguyusa's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
Seems to me the original purchase price of a boxed honebrew is in the 50 range. That doesn't mean it won't be cheaper on the secondary market. I have not spotted a single homebrew under its original price though. In fact, I've seen two go for well into the hundreds... Though I have seen many references to someone named "Hozer" who appears to be an occasional counterfeiter, among other things. I haven't dig too deep into old threads about that, though.
