Deep Rising was an underrated disaster movie.  He died in a motorcycle accident in Vermont, on a road that i've ridden on in my bike.  Gotta watch those left turners...

  2. RIP Christine McVie. Think my parents listened to the Fleetwood Mac albums "Rumours" and "Tusk" in 1979 and 1980 and I liked the music. Years later in 1987 I listened to "Tango in the Night" and thought, hey I know that group from my childhood and bought most of their albums from 1975-1990. This is a farewell to great times and a big thank you!

As someone who grew up on '70s Rock, this is quite depressing.

  3. Listening to Pink Floyd "Hey hey rise up".

  4. RIP John Miles. I always appreciated his clear voice.

Hehe, harddisk 1 = Win XP, 32 Bit, harddisk 2 = MS-DOS 6.22, 16 Bit. The old dual-core PC still has a FDC, so I can boot from 3,5" or 5,25" diskette (both floppy types are installed)...

I used to have his speech as King Osric memorized.  "There comes a time, for a thief.  When the gold looses it's luster.  When the jewels cease to sparkle.  When the throne room becomes a prison... and all that is left is a father's love for his daughter."  RIP.

  9. Happy Birthday Peter Gabriel!

Spirit of Eden and Colour of Spring mean an awful lot to me.

  12. Hmmm, in 1986 or so I bought a JVC tapedeck. They gave a lifetime warranty to their JVC "Sen-Alloy" (sp?) heads. Yesterday my record+play SA head died. Do you think JVC will still replace the head so I can use the tapedeck again ?

Btw: your head might not (probably not) really be "dead". Check the leads under the head... I'd be willing to bet one of them broke off and just needs to be soldered back on...

record did not work anymore for more than a year, only playback did; but since yesterday even playback gives only silence, no matter what tape I insert - all other functions (rewind, fforward, etc.) seem still to be working. Does this have to do with the leads under the head ?!?

      save2600

Yes. Check the leads. The other thing I would do is take contact cleaner to all switches inside and out. Heads rarely ever die. The leads (chinsey thin ass wires) going to the heads are sooooo delicate and fragile. Years of a solenoid or manual up/down can break them easily.

  13. listening to Stevie Nicks...

Beautiful lady, killer voice. Saw her in concert both solo and with Fleetwood Mac (yes - Christine McVie was with them too!)

There goes the stock market. Really can't say more since we can't talk politics.

That's not how it works. We can't discuss US politics. ;-) We're not as hyper sensitive about issues as out American friends.
