They ain't Musicmate cubes, but if anyone needs/wants 18 Atari Modular Cartridge Libraries (a few of which are still in the box, no less) to try a similar thing, drop me a line. I collected all of them because I was going to attempt something similar to this awesome project until I remembered that I'm the most un-handy person on earth. They hold 14 games each (16 if you use the manual slots in the middle) so that's storage for 252 games (288 if you do the manual slot trick). For the record, I 'borrowed' the photo below from gamerzuniverse as an example of what I'm talking about (I'm at work so I can't just quick take a photo of them), but rest assured, I do have that many lying around here! Yeah, I have to admit, I've already planted the idea in my wife's brain by casually mentioning it to her over the phone. I could tell by her questions that she's already mulling it over for a Christmas present to me.

Doh! Didn't see the posting below in the forum. Oh well--at least you get some commentary from Atari PR guys in the article I linked to.

Where the heck would you even FIT a second Atari kiosk?!

Does anyone have a list of what games are in the European 32-in-1 cart that Atari made as a pack-in in the late 80s? I got one and don't recognize all the games in it.

i probably spent about $18 on my boxed one around my town, so you did well.

I got mine for $2 at a used game shop a few years ago. Best money I spent that year.

need help! sealed atari 2600 games ~factory vs. personally~

I'd love to have that happen in reverse, though--say, buy a Q*Bert and get Q*bert's Qubes in there by mistakes. -

Personally, I open all the games I get that are sealed (which is heresy around here), but that said, I am pretty sure that among those who prize such things, a re-sealed game is worth no more than an open box game, because the contents have been opened and messed with. If you have a good feedback rating, you probably don't have to break those seals to sell them. You do, however, have to note that they are resealed and are not original seals. -
Hold up a second. Apparently--and we have to say "apparently" because we don't know what's in there--the contract is just to allow the DP guys the right to distribute the ROM for free...which is something Tempest was going to do anyway. The DP guys haven't mentioned that the contract would grant them exclusivity, purely that they have permission, which is just a plain smart thing to get. In all likelyhood, it sounds like Tempest probably could still distribute his ROM anyway if he gets it going--and if there's an issue about that with the DP guys, then that's something for him and DP to work out privately without all of us butting in and f'ing things up. I would suspect that the bigger concern at the moment is that the proto can be saved. [/u]

Living on Long Island, I rarely get to NJ, but I once got an Oddessy2 with about 10 games, including the lawsuit prone "KC Munchkin" for $10 at Englishtown.

Getting nail polish off of labels is really hard. Carts with coated labels, like some Apollo games, for instance, you can get it off with nail polish remover, but 'regular' labels, forget it. And yeah, I HATE it when they put prices on the cart label. I got a 007 cart from a specialty shop last week and was nervous as anything while I peeled that sucker off (it came off OK, luckily). You'd think people would know better!

Where in New York are you? I spoke with a guy recently who was going to come back to the NY area around Aug 13 or so (he's been living in SF) and sell off a ton of stuff in his garage--tons of atari stuff, TI carts, old TRS-80 and Commodore computers, early Macs and stuff. unfortunately we missed each other and I never got to come over and see his stash o' stuff. Perhaps you found him?

This is illegal to sell isn't it? (Not VG related)
Dolt replied to AtariLeaf's topic in Auction Central
Typically, I find that ebay turns a blind eye unless the copyright holder complains. I own the rights on a video that was a tour of locations in the various ViewAskew/Kevin Smith movies, and that got heavily bootlegged on ebay. They made me jump through hoops to prove I owned it, but once I did, whenever I reported a pirate copy being auctioned, they took it down within hours. -
I'd wager it's really meant for 8-track tapes.

It was on this past weekend. I've seen it before--it's horrrrrrrible. And it was shot in Canada, no less. -
I was surprised by the requirement of buying four systems--for a little mom n pop shop like the one I got this list from, that would be a backbreaking cost, especially when you stop to think-would you buy a big, expensive item like that from a TV repair guy or a discounting retail outlet. I also thought the difference in cost between buying in and out of a 4-pack of systems was a mere $2 per system. What nickel and diming!

Digging through some of the paperwork I got with the TV Repairman stash that I wrote about a few months ago, I came across the price lists below. Page 2 is the more interesting of the two, taking orders for "Donald Duck's Speed Boat" and something I've never heard of, a Voice Controller. Anyone have any info on that one? Clive

Congratulations, guys! I was waiting for the soap opera to go back to the main plot and there it is: Success! What's the scoop?

I like the idea-I'd imagine that you could probably pre-load all the games on to the unit itself and then just use the "carts" as keys to unlock the games.
