1. Can't do the testicle. Wife and still want a few more kids. But I AM interested in trades. I love my Jag but it was definitely my Dad's system of choice. I'm interested in rare Sega Genesis, Turbografx, and a few NES and SNES rares. Yeah. I believe in the great hereafter and where he is I doubt he cares! Thanks man. I will be thinking hard about it. Aside from Battlesphere Gold, are the games pictured roughly $80-100 each complete? I also own an Aircars.
2. That would be cool... but I must admit I love owning such a rarity!
3. Thanks guys! This really helps me determine the value and know the history behind the game. Some of the other games I rediscovered that I was unsure about - both value and history. Sadly, my dad cut the boxes on Iron Soldier 2 and World Tour Racing to fit them into protective cases (oh the irony). Iron Soldier 2 CD is the Yellow Label CD-R first run. Does anyone know the value of these or have any more information? That last picture is of some of the Songbird games we obtained back when they were first released. That Protector is Protector SE. I also have the cart only of the original Protector. I'd generally like to know how many of these were produced and the value. Determining whether or not I want to sell. Thank you.
4. Back in the 90's and early 2000's, my Dad and I were hardcore collectors. Most of my collection of over 1,000 games was amassed between 1994 - 2004. Dad passed away in 2007, and I got married in 2012. It's taken me all of this time to actually organize and go through my entire collection. For a while in the late mid to late 90's, my Dad was a hardcore Jaguar fan. I remembered him ordering Jaguar games from independent dealers like Telegames quite often. I knew we had some rare stuff. While purging through the collection today, I discovered a shiny gold sticker on one of my Jaguar games. I thought... WOW! I think this is actually a VERY RARE game. A little bit of research, and I've come to find out it's sold on Ebay for over $1,700 before. Now, my question is: Can someone honestly and with details explain to me why this game is so rare, and how much mine is worth based on the condition seen in the photos above? Thank you so much. I am very much in the dark here but excited about my discovery!
5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvOjBzzZ3IQ 1990 was a pretty incredible year for Nintendo. They were literally on top of the world. As a three year old turning four, my birthday that year was filled with NES games, TMNT and pizza. As usual, Dad got some awesome moments on tape. I'm happy to share it with you.
6. Spend some quality time with it and it may turn out to be one of your favorite gaming experiences.
7. Any other fans of this beautiful OST by Hiroki Kikuta? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSRbUYq0-xU We just completed a retrospective look back on the music. As a kid, this soundtrack literally made me believe that music in a video game could be as beautiful as "real" music. Would love to hear others thoughts.
8. Thanks man! Awesome life in gaming there! Do you mind if I post that image on the reddit retrogaming group?
9. They were exciting times. In my household there was always such curiosity and excitement over a new console, even if it looked shabby or got panned by the critics. I'm glad we never listened to the naysayers about the Atari Jaguar... I love my Jag!
10. Thanks guys! Yeah. Definitely from the start wanted to go with a "Wonder Years" vibe, but because of the content and subject matter it also feels like "The Goldbergs". It's a lot of fun taking my old childhood memories and truing them into little short subjects.
11. Haha thanks phattyboombatty. Yeah, Dad video taped so much of my childhood. There's enough footage for probably close to 30 more episodes of this series.
12. That's really cool that we've both lead similar "game collecting" lives. Unfortunately, the Glacier Patrol is now Cart only. The box were originally cut up and placed into "collectors cases". When I moved out on my own living in a small apartment, I tossed all of the collectors cases I had to free up space. It's a move I will forever regret, as now I own a house... I didn't have the foresight.
13. Thanks! Yes I do. The box is a little more beat up because of lots of moves, but it's all there.
14. Thanks guys! I'm glad you enjoyed it. There will be other Atari themed episodes in the series.
15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoM3IKJZ5yY Above is a video I put together compiling old home movie clips. It was 1994. I was only 8 years old. One day, Dad surprised me with an Atari 2600 ordered brand new from Telegames. Thought you guys here at Atari Age would be interested. Thanks for any feedback.
16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rk1-7iH521o This is part of a new series I'm dedicating to the many bits of home movie footage I have of my Dad and I collecting games when I was a kid. Kind of going for e "Wonder Years" vibe with narration and such. Hope you enjoy. This particular clip is a pretty special one. Very pleased to say that both Nintendo Life and Kotaku wrote about this one. My dad would be thrilled if he were still alive today knowing that he's still inspiring others.
17. A complete copy of the American release of Super Air Zonk is the one that goes for $700 on EBay these days. $125 for a complete copy of the first Air Zonk so both games are pretty expensive to obtain complete.
18. Thanks! Hey just because it's $700 doesn't mean they should stop searching for a deal! What a find that would be at a swap meet or and thrift store LOL.
19. Remember Air Zonk? I sure do. It was and still is one of my most favorite TurboGrafx-16 games. Love it's inferior sequel too! Here's a retrospective I did on the games for our new series at iretrogamer.com. This is basically a continuation of where Sega Channel left off after we rebranded. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwZgASY4aR0 Hope you enjoy! Feedback is GREATLY appreciated. - Tyler
20. Anyone catch this? Definitely feel like this would be right up AtariAge's alley.
21. Hey guys! Today we've officially rebranded our YT (formerly Sega Channel, now iretrogamer.com) and launched our website with the release of a new video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq4A3ZNl4fQ I recently visited "Classic Home Video Games" author Brett Weiss and did a ROOM OF DOOM video with him featuring his collection. The man has quite the video gaming success story, and it's an honor to be able to share it with you. Hope you like the changes to the YT channel. Check out our new website! iretrogamer.com Thanks for your continued support! - Tyler
22. Hey guys! Recently rebranded our retrospective series on our YT channel. Calling it "SEGA Scan". This is the second episode we've done under the new name. The first was Gunstar Heroes. Definitely check that out but I wanted to share with you this newest one on "Dead Angle". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qudYUcvBPZo Did any of you play this one in the Arcade or on the Master System. Always been a favorite of mine even though the game is flawed. Please let us know what you think of the new direction we've taken the series! Thanks.
23. Hey guys! It's Christmastime. Hope you are all having a wonderful season. One of my favorite Christmas memories was playing Sonic CD with my Dad and cousins. For our annual Sega Christmas video, I decided to dig out the old '93 home movies and put together this tribute to that magical December day in 1993. It was ALL ABOUT the blue blur. Merry Christmas! 24. Hey gang. In the past year, I've struck up a friendship with the guys over at Nintendo Life. They've long been supporters of my Sega gaming channel "The Sega Channel". At some point recently, I was asked to join the Nintendo Life team and create a new series for them. The result is "I ♥ Virtual Console", a series that will dive into Virtual Console wish list titles as well as titles already released. The first episode I've produced is for the game Monster Party, which has somewhat of a "cult following" with NES fans. Would love to hear your feedback! Hope you enjoy, and Happy Halloween! - Tyler
