Atari's Landfill Adventures, I now have the proof it's true.
wiseguyusa replied to Spud's topic in Atari 2600
Who owned Atari when "Landfillgate" happened? -

In defense of the original Flashback...
wiseguyusa replied to toiletunes's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
In theory shouldn't a superior NES platform be capable of emulation an older inferior platform (ie: the 2600) ?? I realize that is not what the NOAC does, it is ported code, but wouldn't emulation also be possible? -
I couldn't get TiVo updates via telephone because the house had DSL and at exactly the same point every time I tried to update the DL would stall and timeout. Does the same principle apply to a MagicJack and a 300/1200/2400 etc modem? what a great BBS system could be running to support "8bit Orphans" with a old Pentium 4 and a few Magicjacks. Realistic?

Original Flashback2 Sighting... $24.99
wiseguyusa replied to crsdawg's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Are the fake FB2's any easier or harder to do the cartridge port mod on? I have purchased several used ones for $5-$10 with an eye on doing the mods, I can't say if they are real or fake, some have no boxes at all, and there is no guarentee that they got to me in the box the came in originally. -
Sorry WOz LOL

I swear I thought that I saw a Mustang machine for $18k somewhere. How much does WOO go for?
-
Actually the new(ish) 50th Anniversary Mustang pin, costs more than the new Mustang from Ford.

I replaced the old school bulbs with LED's and added some LED's to the backglass. Swapped some of the white bulbs with colored LED's. Replaced the plain white bumper cap with a color coordinated one from "Sharpshooter" pin. I am going to put a few more white LED's on the playfield to light it up a little better, here is how it looks so far.

Expanding on the "Marry Me" cart idea
wiseguyusa replied to wiseguyusa's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
Finally an idea that someone liked that didn't involve me placing an object an in orifice! Is there a demo of the X-Mas card thing on YouTube? -
I think that they get a bad rap, I like my "Aspen" and "Alive" was just a clone of it with a different theme. I've also been quite fond of the Bally home machines "Fireball" and its clone "Elton John - Captain Fantastic" (one was sold at Wards, one was sold at Sears) I want to own 1 of each "genre" of pinball woodrail, EM, SS, and multiball.
-
I am attracted to having a dead one for parts for $50 and having 2 working machines and spare parts for less than $350 When I finally own my own place I want different machines entirely!

I bought my first pinball machine, and I am having a blast restoring it. It is a home machine from Brunswick called "Aspen" I got it delivered to my living room for $100. Since home machines aren't worth very much I am not going to restore it to "Showroom new" but rather experiment with some tweaks and mods. Since this machine was so easy to fix, I am considering getting its bastard cousin "Star Explorer" for $100 and getting a 2nd SE-PB that is dead, for parts for $50 or so Thoughts? Advice? "Congrats" or "Condolences" ? http://fortsmith.craigslist.org/tag/4562704750.html http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/ele/4509476021.html

Maybe this is a way that microbrews could be more financially sustainable. If a few of the programmers made a set of "templates" for personalizable carts that could have simple music like "Happy Birthday" or "Jingle Bells" "Wedding March" etc. with graphics that can be edited to say things like: "Happy Birthday Jill" or "Rigdemont High Class of 1987 Rules" people could custom order them as unique gifts for that special retrogamer. All of the the hardware headaches still exist, and there would rarely be demand for more than a couple at a time, but the coding would be relatively easy. Thoughts without flames?

Here are the Lowes brand 2600 screws and washers for anyone who might go looking. Does anyone know the # color of the orange paint used to restore the trim?
-
I believe so, I know that she has been to a couple of them.
-
sorry for the double post
-
if you give me the email address of whoever keeps "the book" I will see if she would like to add to it.

If I recall she met her husband on the assembly line making 2600 carts, she was mostly coin-op and went to "Atari Games" after the split.
-
how about now?
-
I don't know that I have ever seen Gravatier or Desert Falcon, mine are still sealed. I would assume that they would have decent ones just based on other Atari games at that time.
-
No-one mentioned ET, which although the worst game of all time, had one of the best attract modes.
-
Not all of my 2600's are fully functional. What I want to do is put carts like Pac Man Jr that have coin-op style "Attract mode"in the partially functional systems for the display. Any suggestions?

I had to edit this photo to protect my friends privacy but look at this old Atari ID badge. Ever seen that logo before? Ever seen Atari use that font ? What was "Syzyrgy?

I saw a few episodes of Pawn Stars one with a Mattel Handheld Football, and another with a NES Cart worth $32000. Anyone else seen any retrogaming stuff on the reality shows? I am auditioning for one right now.
