Apperently, there was a movie based off of arcade games of the games 80's You know, like Pac-man, Space Invaders, Rally-X etc. This game however wasn't actually in the 80's. It's a replica. The name of the game is Fix-it Felix Jr. The movie was obviously Wreck-it Ralph. (the bad guy) But nobody really thought it was a playable game. Yeah, there were flash verions, but I am not talking about them. This game was coded in C++ by the Code Mystics (same people who helped in the Atari Arcade Hits CD-ROM 1 & 2 from what I know) the same year the movie was released. A handful of these Arcade machines sprinkled throughout Disneyland arcades. Only like 20 of them. The CPU unit was actually a computer (As I said C++) and making that the reason it was never MAMEable. (In other words, MAME, if you haven't heard of it, emulates real arcade games starting from 1975s "Gunfight" to the 2000s games) Getting to the point here, Someone who bought one of these game replicas for something outragous on Ebay, that would be 20K in the hole, looked at the inside of the cabinet, (If you didn't notice the cabinet was basically a Donkey Kong cabinet, that explains why no one in the movie made a reference to DK) and saw a computer. and gave us a link to the game You get to play the arcade version of Fix-it Felix Jr. Not a Flash. Here are the controls: C - Coin 1 or 2 - Players to start Arrowpad - Move Z - Jump X - Fix And here is the download: Fix-it.zip

What about those weird Panic games?
Underground_Robot replied to Underground_Robot's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
Well, I remember another one of my computers had a version of bB that wasn't DOS. Maybe something like Visual bB? Now I went to download it, all I saw was DOS related bB. How do I use DOS bB? -
I see this as module with 4 inputs and 2 outputs that go into both left and right controller slot. Possibly like the NES Four Score?

I'd really like to see what Unison looks like! -
I found the weirdest video game earlier this week, AVGN for the atari 2600. So, what do I do? make it complete but as obviously. The game does cuss. I got the .bin file but that wasn't enough. So I created labels, a box, and even a manual. however. the game didn't have much on scoring or helping. But it's still fun! P.S. If you read Horror Stories as a bad game. it was just to cover up for Dr. Jekyel and Mr. Hyde because Atari didn't want to associate with Nintendo. Here you will find the .zip file containing every thing I used to make the pics.AVGNAtari.zip

Oh, That's funny. i thought it was real. -
Hey everyone, it's my first forum topic, so I am kind of a noob. I remember seeing these cool Atari repro boxes. They weren't based on the same games, these were different, games like Unison, Transmit, Candybar. I picked up these boxes for 19 bucks. It was cool but, it was only the boxes. I'd want some games to go with the package, I did some research and so did alot others and it turns out: Back in 1982 Panic, Inc. made real games for VCS, (all 4 games) these weren't reviewed by Atari but for the system these boxes look very, very, simalar to the actual boxes for made by Atari. But the idea failed and the idea was discontinued. At this point I was thinking, "What happened to the dozens of carts and manuals?" it seems Panic moved to a new location. And the contents was dumped. By that I mean sent in truck loads to a landfill. That is sad. Years later Panic found some leftovers from their project, and still no carts were contained. Some guy obviously a programmer or ramdom worker eiether made a repro of Candybar for the 2600 or what he says, "I went into the back of the factory, and after dozens, and dozens, and stacks of boxes and other retro stuff, i found this: The pic was some Atari picture label custom to look like a real Candybar game (Awesome) but there was something different this one: As the snapshot of the game suggests, this one is different: The chef sprite changed, the candy (or Macintosh) sprites are now blue, red, and white blocks, the chutes (or mouths?) is someone. And more differences. This is the only game Panic has. Though the game is still nice. Transit, Coda, Unison don't exist. I've tried programming for the atari 2600 but I don't get it. My point is: Someone should try to recreate these awesome looking games!!! I'd like to see what these games were like, sure it's definately obvious that 1982 is over, but I think I speak for every Atari enthusiast when I say: Go ahead! A little programming never hurt anyone, and you are done, you'll have something everyone would wanna play! I know I would. Here are some of the pictures I was meaning: Cool boxes I got for 19 bones. Repro cart from TIGSource's "A Game by it's Cover" competition The box of Panic's long forgotten memories. This is the REAL screenshot of Candybar. As you can see, it's not photoshopped.
