is thedemondawg? From the number of Atari auctions this guy has snagged, if he's not on these boards, we need to get him over here!

-
Bump as I did a major overhaul of my want and trade lists!
-
Ugh, there's no other way to describe it but the image of the game on the screen appears to dissolve. This is SO frustrating! I threatened it with a screwdriver but no luck.....

-
I might be insterested... I have some basic have/want lists at:http://users.rcn.com/slapdash/HW/cards.vid...ogame.misc.html
I looked at your list but all of those look more recent than the stuff I have. We're talking Six Million Dollar Man era here.....

-
I used to collect the 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' trading cards....If anyone has those..

Are you looking to acquire or get rid of some because I have some I'd sell or trade if you're looking to acquire!

I would guess that you have a bad voltage regulator or a shot TIA.Is there an easy way to test either of these. I have a number of working consoles that I could use for donor test parts if someone could give me directions on what to do. If I could narrow it down to which is the problem, I'm sure that I could scavenge a replacement part from someone. I'm not an electrical wizard but I am pretty mechanically inclined.
Thanks!

Every dirty 2600 cart I have seen just gives hum bars or a blank screen' date=' never have I seen garbled graphics. Could be that the TIA in the console has failed, or one of the other related chips, but you say that you get the proper picture for a second on some carts, but screwed up graphics on Kaboom!. I would suggest thoroughly cleaning the cart connector. Unfortunately, there isn't really an easy way to expose the bare connector, since the dust flap is part of the connector, not the case. Try cleaning it again with the cardboard, or maybe with a little alcohol on the cardboard. Also, check to make sure none of the pins are bent or damaged. Could be that you've got a short in there somewhere, or a pin that isn't making contact.Ian Primus

I know that it is not the carts as I have seen all of the malfunctions that you described as cart-related. I get the proper picture for a second with all of the carts including Kaboom!; as its graphics are on the left-hand side, it was the one that seemed to allow me to see the image "melt" from left to right. The others just appeared to go from picture to solid color and I couldn't tell what happened. I did the business card in the cart slot cleaning thing (I knew business cards had to be good for something else other than putting in fishbowls to win free lunches) and got a little dirt out but still had the same problem. Maybe what is deceiving me is that this unit is SO clean as it has been boxed for 15 years or so and looks brand new. The pins look fine (from just viewing them from the outside) but I'm going to work a bit more on it tonight. Thanks for everyone's continuing help!

Okay, I have other systems so I know that my power supply, carts and TV connections (I don't use a switchbox) are okay so I've ruled those out. I've also wiggled the hell out of the switches and cleaned the cartridge slot. I think that this clue may be the key because when I put in Kaboom, it essentially looked like the picture dissolved from left to right and I'm left with the screen divided into the correct color blocks with no guy up top and some evenly-spaced, thin black lines on the left side of the screen. I don't know crap about this but I saw something in another post where someone commented that they could see the "RAM refresh" cycles on the left of the screen......I guess that what has me confused is that this unit is mint and doesn't work and the dozen others that I've gotten that looked fresh from being dug out of the yard did work! I even gave the older guy that I bought it from a fair deal so it can't be bad karma.
I'm starting to think that we might be rapidly approaching screwdriver territory.... Thanks!

I just got a MIB 4-switcher from the original owner and when I cut it on, I get the correct picture on the screen for about a second and then it goes to a solid color. Any suggestions for what may be the problem?
Thanks,
Laura

Okay, I just added a bunch of INTV stuff.......
-
I just updated the list and added a couple more carts and some manuals!

-
So every five boxed NES games would be two pounds, and fifteen would be six. Six pounds, Chicago to Omaha, I could see it. If the package shows up anything other than first class or priority though I won't be happy.I won an auction about a 6 weeks ago from a free-range nun (or nun in the wild) who normally sells rosaries but was selling a lot of 31 Atari carts. (They were supposedly from her childhood collection but I doubt that is where the ones coxed with $.50 came from but I digress....) It said that she shipped Priority and when after 10 days or so, I hadn't gotten them, I e-mailed. She said that she had a death in the family and would be shipping them the next week. Finally, a week after that I received them Media Mail. That'll teach me not to go against my inherent wariness of people who don't separate business and religion or politics....

-
Okay, I'm really, really excited because I just won a big INTV auction that had some games that I've really been wanting along with a ton of other stuff. I'm scared that I'll jinx myself (everything will arrive in non-working order) if I post a link but I'm sure that you can find it if you're familiar with the Search by Buyer feature.......

-
I ALWAYS forward it to [email protected]That is what ebay tells you to do but I don't know if they are actually using the information or if they aren't doing anything at all. I have never responded to one personally I just wanted to know if anyone has. They do look VERY real and have copyrights from ebay on the bottom and everything. I fear for the people that respond with thier credit card info.
I do the same. They always send you back this e-mail that says they're looking into it and won't be able to notify you of the outcome, yada, yada. (I can never remember the address so I spend 20 minutes searching the e-bay site for the address....maybe I'll just add it to my address book.

Good deal, man. I've got a decent game collection, but I've always wanted the Sears version of the console. The first one that I got was a Sears that I found at Goodwill a couple of months ago. I plugged it in, the title screens came up when I plugged in the games but nada as far as getting them to start as there seemed to be some disconnect between the controllers and the unit. I'm working on trying to find someone to fix it but I was told that they have some weird wiring that can cause that problem if the sound chip goes bad.
I finally just picked up another INTV that did work so that I could play my games. Next project is installing these "Stickler" joysticks that replace the touchpads......INTV is fun. It's totally different than Atari!

I need Tunnel Runner to complete CBS. Can anyone help out? My trade list is completely updated and I just added a number of good carts (like Titlematch Pro Wrestling, Winter Games, Summer Games, etc.) I'd really prefer to trade for these but will consider a purchase if the price is right. As for the list, I have label variations and Sears titles of a number of the carts so just ask if you have any questions!
Thanks!
-
I have a bunch of Star Wars, Grease and others from that time (mid to late 70s) as well if anyone is interested!

-
I got a ton of INTV overlays that I would like to trade for Atari , INTV, NES, etc. manuals. If there are any that you're looking for, drop me a PM and we'll see what we can work out. I'm willing to trade them as singles, pairs, whatever.

-
I got an Imagic No Escape in an auction that must be a PAL cart because it continually rolls on the screen. Does anyone want to trade for an NTSC No Escape? The cart is a bit weird because it has "Sample Only" stamped on the front of it but it is definitely an Imagic cart in shape and label.
PM me if interested.

I added 2 more 5200 games and some Atari Computer carts. I'll try to add some NES games with instructions tomorrow.

-
Frogger II is a great '6'.This game has been on my want list from the beginning of my collecting. I really oughta splurge on it.

Voch
There is someone selling 2 of them on e-bay right now and they hadn't gone sky-high yet as of this morning. I got lucky and got mine as part of an auction that had a complete system, all controllers and working power supply that all looked fresh out of the box. It had 24 other carts including Pitfall II, Gyruss, and a host of others that I needed for $58 including shipping. It wasn't an awesome deal but I was happy with it.
