New console announced: NINTENDO NX
Parallax Scroll replied to Rev's topic in Modern Console Discussion
This doesn't even qualify as rumor, but on NeoGAF a member posted information about NX, originally in Italian, from someone who says he has sources inside NCL. Very easily could've been completely fabricated. That said, an interesting read. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=177463814&postcount=2847 -
Also - NG's interview with 3DFX's top brass following Sega terminating the graphics chip contract with them in favor of NEC / VideoLogic. When 3DFX released their Initial Public Offering in June 1997, it contained a ton of references to the Sega/3Dfx Chipset for Sega's new console (although no specific technical details) but it pissed Sega off so much, they killed the deal, and went with NEC / VideoLogic PowerVR for Dreamcast. That became final I think in July of that year. You can read the IPO that 3DFX filed with the SEC here: http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1010026/0000891618-97-002713.txt

I've been wanting to have these articles for a long time. The beginning of Dreamcast (Katana) hardware development was certainly not Sega's first effort to find a successor or replacement for Saturn -- That actually began in late 1994, just before the Saturn launched in Japan, and continued through 1995 with Nvidia and Lockheed. As for the two internal pieces of hardware that competed to become what we knew as Dreamcast, I figure they must have been started sometime in 1996. By March 1997, Next Generation learned of one of them, and that's were this begins. Some of you will find it pointless, others should find it quite interesting. I do hope you all enjoy. Also, a nice related video. [video=youtube;bfTv0IvGYwU]

Thunder Force III without a doubt. A better alternative to Thunder Spirits is Thunder Force AC -
Dragon Quest XI on 3DS/NX/PS4
Parallax Scroll replied to cimerians's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Square Enix today clarified that they are considering developing DQXI and DQ X (the MMO) for NX. SE did that most likely because Nintendo has not even revealed what the NX actually is. All Nintendo said was that NX is their next dedicated game platform and they would not share information about it until next year. Keep in mind the late Iwata stated in 2013 that even though they merged console & handheld hardware R&D divisions into one, Nintendo does not intend to make only one new gaming system. In otherwords, not some kind of a hybrid console-portable system They're working on a common hardware/OS architecture so that porting games & apps between home consoles and portables is much easier and will avoid software droughts - Regardless of the performance capability of each system. Iwata in 2014 said he expects Nintendo platforms (consoles, handhelds) in more form factors to be like 'brothers in a family'. Back on topic - DQXI and DQX are both coming to PS4. among other new DQ games like DQ Builders and DQ Heroes II. -
I started with the second issue of VG&CE all the way until the end. VG&CE was amazing, however I really disliked when they became VideoGames in September 1993. The quality of everything included the writing simply tanked. I never owned a Model 2 Genesis. I had the first Model 1 "Altered Beast version" and the second Model 1 "Sonic version" -- IIRC the second Model 1 had a security lock-out chip which had the license screen when firing up a game.. But what I really wish I had owned was the first model Sega CD, the front loader. I had the top loader.

My dad brought home a Genesis for my brother and I in spring 1990. Aside from the packed in Altered Beast, there was a mail-in offer for a free game, I chose Forgotten Worlds. That summer I had my first job, Herzog Zwei was the first game I bought with the money I had earned. I borrowed Golden Axe from a friend who attended another another school. The still-upcoming release of Thunder Force III VG&CE Editor Andy Eddy appeared on Nickelodeon's short lived show Total Panic in the summer of 1989 showing off the 4 new game systems that would soon launch. TurboGrafx-16, GameBoy, Genesis and the Lynx. The hosts of Total Panic, Greg Lee and Molly Scott, are pretty darn corny but it was cool to see Andy on television. (starts at 10:15)

Easily my favorite magazine article on Genesis -- The one that helped me make a choice between the two new consoles launching in the United States that year. This was a time long before Sonic existed, before there was a SEGA! scream, before 'Genesis does what Nintendon't!' marketing campaigns, before 8-meg home carts like Strider, before Street Fighter II, and only an early concept of the Super Famicom existed on the other side of the Pacific. This was still the 1980s, and your world would never be the same.

Speaking of NUON, I found the first article Next Generation published on Project X.

From what I've gathered, Midway issued a couple of patches in 2006 to fix the sound issues for the games in the MAT2 portion]/i] of Deluxe Edition on Windows PC, but are there any patches or fixes for the games in MAT3 ? Unless I missed it, there doesn't seem to be anything in the options screen to map controls for my PC gamepad for San Francisco Rush the Rock - Alcatraz Edition and San Francisco Rush 2049. Any help would be most appreciated.
