How would a game console amiga have competed?
LoTonah replied to Crazyace's topic in Commodore Amiga
There was an Amiga video game system--the CD32. Unfortunately, it came on the market during the 90's, not during the 80's when it may have gained some traction. Competing against the Genesis and the Super Nintendo wasn't the brightest of moves. -
What can I do with the Adam Link Modem Today (2014)?
LoTonah replied to ValkerieSilk's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Mine's on the way and should be here any day now. Not sure what my plans are for it yet, but I'm tired of waiting to long for cool stuff and being told that I just missed the end of a run and they won't be made anymore, blah blah blah. I've got the worst luck for that! -
Yes, thank you, jblenkle!
-
As far as I know, I've never stumbled upon it. Would love to experiment further, but I don't understand it much. Thanks!
-
Oops. As soon as I launch the installed program, my mouse goes crazy and is confined to an invisible section about 1 inch squared, just off the lower-right hand corner of the emulator window. Alt-Tab to another app, and the mouse is fine.

Yes! Setting up now (too late to work on it, though). Also will install on the MacBook tomorrow.

Bomb Jack DX: New C64 Port of the arcade game
LoTonah replied to Retrofan's topic in Commodore 8-bit Computers
Now that's what I call an improvement. Used to play the old one a lot, back in the day. Very interested in seeing this finished! -
I'm interested, too.

CoolCV emulator for Mac OS X, Linux, Windows and Raspberry
LoTonah replied to nanochess's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I'd love to use this to do some ADAM programming, but for some reason the +/= key on my Mac does nothing under SmartBASIC. I wonder if the keys are mis-configured on coolcv-mapping.txt. If I had to get rid of some functions to make that work, I don't have a lot of use for the snapshots and video functions. Any help would be cool. Thanks! -
So you want to create Colecovision graphics, eh?
LoTonah replied to retroillucid's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Which program do you use to break it up into blocks like that? -
I could be wrong, but I don't think I've ever seen a beige 360Kb floppy drive, especially as a half-height. I think you have two 1.44Mb drive there. Whether they work in that capacity would depend on the controller, I bet. Wish I would just stumble across a collection like this. *sigh*

Spelunker is definitely one of my favorite games... and would be awesome on the 7800.
-
Is 1.81 still the current build? Also, I could never find the OSX SDL version for 1.81. Thanks!

Which websites to use towards 7800 console repairs?
LoTonah replied to PhoenixMoonPatrol's topic in Atari 7800
Straight RF sucks. Instead of paying for a mod, try one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Coaxial-Adapter-Female-Male-Style/dp/B000AAL4PA Plugs into the back of the 7800 (or most systems, for that matter), then attach it to your TV with a coax cable. Super cheap and pretty good results! -
Well, if the price is around $40, I'd be interested in one, too. Looks great!
-
I have one, with the second external floppy drive, Monitor ///, and a 5Mb Profile drive. Looking to sell it soon. Gotta say boxing it for shipping is a scary, scary idea, especially for the hard drive.

I was thinking of making an 'Accelerator' board ?
LoTonah replied to Xenophon's topic in ColecoVision Programming
I'd love to see an ADAM-compatible/MSX compatible computer system. Doubt there'd be much of a market, though--emulation is easier (and cheaper!) -
You sure do, Bob! You helped me when I had a problem with the CF card adapter, and you went way above what was needed to just *fix* it. You have my business for as long as you still do this. BTW, I'm finalizing a sale of some other old equipment and the funds are coming at you to get even more upgrades

The Gains of the year, people who make a difference
LoTonah replied to _The Doctor__'s topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Would Aric Wilmunder count (Star Raiders II)? Did he become a member on AA? -
so don't read it then.
-
Negative. I don't even read obituaries unless someone tells me to.
-
I don't think its morbid, it is a way of looking back and honouring achievements and recognizing those we lost. Nothing more.
-
Maybe a separate topic? I think it is a great idea. Who is new? Who came back after a long absence?
-
I'll start: Bill Wilkinson http://atariage.com/forums/topic/229656-interview-questions-for-bill-wilkinson/
-
I think this needs to become a yearly thing, pinned. Who did we lose in 2015?
