  1. Around $575.00! I just think how much my parents paid for that crappy Pac Man, and we were not rich. These systems were not cheap back in the day either. .http://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm
  2. This was the question I was asking in this thread http://atariage.com/forums/topic/234591-rewiring-flashback-controllers/ Just wanted to know what order the wires would need to go on the board itself? Thanks Forrest
  3. Guys Thanks for eveybody getting back with all the tips and explanations. Just going to keep at and see how it goes.Played Lock N Chase some last night and was defiantly better. My worse area on Pac Man sometimes is trying to make a fast transition form going north to west quickly, seems like you defiantly have to try and think a little further ahead with you moves if possible. Forrest
  4. Escape From New York I always thought this was a natural for an Atari game or any system, Heck it came out in the Hey Day of the 2600. I imagine it having Vector type graphics like they showed in some parts of the beginning of the movie and having three levels. The first level would be you guiding Snake to land his hanger glider on top of the World Trade Center. The Second level would be you trying to escape out of the building or room that Snake is in when the "night people" (forget what they are called) are trying to get him. The third level would be when you have the President in the cab and are trying to cross the bridge for the escape! Forrest
  5. Relatively new to playing the Intellivision, like playing Lock N Chase on the 2600 so It was a natural for me to get it on the Intellivision. Have tried playing it some and having control issues, wow its hard for me to move around. On the other hand I found an Atari Soft Pac Man at the flea market this past weekend and cant believe how nice the control is on this. I would say its one of the best Pac Man's on any system. So is Lock N Chase know for hard control or do I just need to work on my technique? Any tips? Thanks Forrest
  6. Wanted to rewire my Flashback controllers to use on my Sears Video Arcade. Looked at the wiring diagrams on page 39 of the Flashback thread and got confused, I must be slow. Could anybody tell me what order the wires need to be in on the Flashback controller board itself? Thanks for your help. Forrest
  7. That is a bad spot, Its bad its on the blue letters. I would try a Q tip with some water or very mild cleaner like Windex window cleaner. It make take some time that way but I think it would come off. I think anything you did like trying to paint over it would make it a lot worse. Forrest
  8. I have had good luck using Mr. Clean Magic Erasers for such areas. You have to be carefull because some products on certain consoles seem to "Polish" the plastic in that area. Forrest
  9. My number one is a tie between Thrust and Space Rocks. Thrust never gets boring! Forrest
  10. Recently took apart and cleaned my Sears Super Video Arcade, wanted to do all that before I started using it for the first time ( never had a Intellivision before) Decide to play some Pitfall since I was familiar with that game from the 2600 and I received a copy of that with the system. Did not think the controller was to bad, but the action buttons were kind of stiff. So to get to my point of this post I took the action buttons from a Flashback and placed them in my factory controllers, they were a perfect fit! The difference is amazing a lot softer and they do stick out slightly more from the controller which I think helps. So I would say my factory controllers feel almost like Flashback controllers by just changing the action buttons. Very simple to do takes about five minutes. This may be helpful if you want to use the factory controller for whatever reason ( I wanted the color to match, or you dont want to open your Intellivision with the fixed controllers). The downsize is you have to buy a flashback just for the action buttons. Forrest
  11. I still ask how hard it would have been to make it at least the right colors? Black back ground with a Blue maze? not hard at all, they just didnt want to! Atari was so giant at the time they thought it was easier to sue about K.C. Munckin then make a good Pac Man. Was the Bally Astrocade, Intellivision, or Odyssey 2 really that much better than the 2600?
  12. Half Price Books is a good place to find Atari Carts in the Cincinnati Area. Last week I got Fishing Derby and Stampede for 99 cents each . I left a Centipede for somebody else to find. Forrest
  13. Very nice! I built a controller for playing Thrust last year using a driving controller. This gives me some ideals on how to make a smaller one. Forrest
  14. I never bought this stuff, Heck Atari screwed themselves on alot of their own games. Take Pac Man For example, Coleco DK is alot better than Atari Pac Man. Forrest
  15. This thread got my thinking after my first post, took me awhile to think of the name, KC Munchkin for the Odyssey II Blows Pac Man away. Atari should have hired this guy to make Pac Man! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXawm3pURjk Heck my hand held LCD Epoch Man was way better than Atari 2600 Pac Man. Forrest
  16. We had about 4 or 5 carts as kids and Pac Man was one of them , What I thought then and what I still cant stand about it is the Turd muted Blue background and the odd looking turd orange/ brown borders, who thought that looked good or even like the arcade version? I dont know anything about programing a game but you only had to play Berzerk once on the 2600 and you would figure out they could have at least made the colors correct for Pac Man. Forrest
  17. Might be a little late but I got a promo code for Dollar General for 20% off today only RACEWIN20 Hopes that helps somebody Forrest

    TAC-2

To me they are OK . Agree about the long throw, I really like the Slick Stick because of the shorter throw. Forrest
  19. Hi Having done both mods I dont think the AV mod is worth it, the picture is slightly better. You may get the same results using a better RF cable. The S video mod is a complety different story, night and day difference in picture and sound. If buying one I would get one with the S video. Forrest
  20. Thanks for the information. I saw the Monoprice one in my searches, guess I will give that one a try I really never thought about the out going signal itself, I just assumed if it was going out in a S video cable one of this would convert it. Guess that's not always the case. Forrest
  21. Hello I have a S video moded Darth Vader that I did the conversion on last year. Works and looks great on my CRT television. Do to some downsizing I will no longer be able to use the CRT television, I will be using a few year old PROSCAN LED 32 inch flat screen television. In the past I have used this TV using a stock Atari with RF cable and a Darth Vader with just the composite mod with pretty good success. My problem is the TV has no S video input for my S video Atari. I recently bought a S video to HDMI Converter on EBAY that did not work, not sure if it was defective or just did not work with my equipment. I have searched on here and have read about some of them. Just wanted to know what converters you are actually using and having success with. The one I bought cost around fifty dollars, would not mind spending more if I knew it would work, just don't want to spend hundreds of dollars Thanks for your help.
  22. They sell very thin foam sheets at crafts stores, comes in black and different colors it is usally as big as a piece of paper 8 1/2 X 11 they cost about .89 cents at store like Joanns Fabrics or Hobby Lobby. You could start making them and then you could sell them on EBAY! are very easy to make. Forrest
  23. I would be very interested, even a kit were a person could source there own projext box and put it together would be great. I plan on getting my 5200 going this winter. Forrest
  24. Just wanted to know if this was still in the works? I understand there is a lot of work put into these projects. Thanks Forrest
  25. I am going to say no. The box said it had 60 games. To tell the truth they had them behind the counter and the line behind me was starting to pile up behind me I can go back and make sure though. I bought a Sears Super Video Arcade early this year and I could not get use to the controlers or they need some cleaning. I thought I might get one of these to give the Intellivision another chance and go from there. Forrest
