Maybe we should think about preserving all these audio tracks before it's too late... ++ RC ++

The games are Micro-Discount releases. I think Derek Fern was the first European dealer to obtain those protos at the time. ++ RC ++

Looking for music demo...
Randy California replied to Randy California's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks, just found it in the ABBUC PD library I'm sure the disk I owned had a different title screen but anyway... Warning: sound issues when using Atari800Win PLus. ++ RC ++ music.zip -
You can download the game here: http://www.atari8bit-software.de ++ RC ++

I'm looking for a music demo released by Compy Shop. It had four or five very good renditions of C64 classics (Commando, Monty on the Run...). Anybody remember that one? ++ RC ++

Revamped stuff? Come on... My vote: Numen. Why? Pretty obvious... ++ RC ++ -
Best 8-Bit Graphic Adventure?
Randy California replied to davidcalgary29's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Probably because Antic or ANALOG never reviewed anything European. Sure would've helped the A8 at the time... That's a mistake. It was never released on the A8. ++ RC ++ -

Games that are better than you thought first...

I love T-34, particularly the intro and the funny sound effects. The only problem is that you can't play against the computer. ++ RC ++ -
Games that were bad for no reason

How about stuff by General Masters? All their games are absolutely awful. ++ RC ++ -

The A8 version of Green Beret is terrible. ++ RC ++ -
What's the story behind Satan's Hollow?
Randy California replied to Randy California's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
What puzzles me is that CBS Software continued to fork out cartridge games after that (the educational line). Strange that the program was finished and someone released it "in the wild". Maybe there are other CBS prototypes for the A8 out there (Omega Race wouldn't be that much of a surprise). ++ RC ++ -
It was released by Adventure International in 1982/83. ++ RC ++

OK, the game seems to be complete yet appears to be a bootleg. Why was the program never officially released? Why is the Atari version the only one around (the C64 port was sold by Commodore, not by CBS Software)? ++ RC ++

The 5200 version of Qix has been converted to the A8. ++ RC ++

It's on the A8 as well ++ RC ++

Is that Leggit by Imagine for the 8-bit? I do have a file version on disk but my 1050 is dead at the moment so I can't transfer anything ++ RC ++

Interactive Fiction Typing Games ?

Adventure Master (CBS Software) and AdventureWriter (CodeWriter) are two similar tools. I believe there's some PD stuff out there as well... ++ RC ++ -
No, only the first episode exists. ++ RC ++

First third-party games for the 8-bit?
Randy California replied to Randy California's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Found a game called What's Different from PDI with a 1979 copyright. Of course, that doesn't mean it's the release date... ++ RC ++ -
I think there are two versions of the game: disk (the one above, supposed to save high scores) and cartridge (which needs the old OS). ++ RC ++

First third-party games for the 8-bit?
Randy California replied to Randy California's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I'm pretty sure the Atari versions of Zork and Temple of Apshai were released in late 1981 or 1982. There was probably some very early educational stuff available from Dorsett or PDI and I'm pretty certain Dynacomp and Adventure International were the first big names to support the Atari. Now to find the first games... ++ RC ++
