Atari ST Boxed Games: Complete and in Great Condition!
Retro-Z replied to Retro-Z's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Moonmist is sold pending funds. The rest are still available. These will be going to Ebay on Sunday, and I'd really rather do a bulk deal here and avoid Ebay altogether. So, holler at me soon if you are interested! -
Simple "how-to" documents for various computer platforms
Retro-Z replied to Nebulon's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
The Atari 8-bit computers have an FAQ page that I've found handy at times: http://www.atarimania.com/faq-atari-400-800-xl-xe.html One thing that is not always mentioned in simple terms is that cassette based programs come in BASIC language and Machine language forms, and have to be loaded a bit differently (for instance, using "CLOADM" instead of "CLOAD"). Sounds simple, but if you are just getting into vintage computing, this may not be readily apparent at first since the documentation is pretty poor overall. -

Moonmist & Millenium 2.2 Pics -
Hello All, Picked these up to try out the Atari ST system, and for the most part, I've decided to stick with the 8-bit computers. I got all of these from the original owner, and in some cases, the original receipts are even included with a few of these games. The original owner was a big time Atari computer nut back in the 80s and 90s, and took excellent care of all of his equipment and software. Everything is divided into different price ranges. Here is what's available: Note: Feel free to make reasonable offers if you feel my prices are out-of-line. One Extra Note: Buy the entire lot for $325 + shipping for an instant, high quality Atari ST software collection!!! $55: Dungeon Master + Chaos Strikes Back Expansion Set $40 Each: Infocom MoonMist Millenium 2.2 $30 Each: Capcom 1943 S.D.I.: A Cinemaware Interactive Movie (contrary to the fancy title, this a game) Flight Simulator II (some slight crushing to the large box) $20 Each: Trailblazer Xenophobe Pac-Land Space Harrier The New Zealand Story Arcade Force Four (contains Gauntlet, Road Runner, Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom, and Metrocross) Gauntlet II Populous $15 Each: Superstar Ice Hockey Shanghai Trivial Pursuit Klax Boulder Dash Construction Kit Vegas Gambler Terms: Accepted forms of payment are Paypal or USPS Money Orders. Shipping will be via USPS Standard or Priority within the U.S. This does NOT include shipping insurance. This can be added at the buyer's expense, just inform me if you'd like insurance and I'll refigure the total cost. I am more than happy to ship items internationally, just send me a PM and I'll figure up the total to take the international shipping costs into account. Be aware that international shipping for this item will likely be $40-$60, maybe more. The buyer is granted a 7-day return policy IF the item does not match my description, but return shipping must be paid for by the buyer and must include tracking. If classic computing is your thing, or want to get started, be sure to keep checking the marketplace here, as I'll have quite a few more items to list over the next few days. Thanks for looking, and have a great day!!!

Wanted for purchase: Hard Drive and/or Floppy Drive for Atari ST
Retro-Z replied to jttheninja's topic in Wanted
Are you looking for Atari branded items? I have an ICD FA-ST external hard drive (designed especially for use with the Atari ST computers) as well as an aftermarket GTS-100 3.5" floppy drive. Both seem to be working great, and the GTS-100 floppy drive is really a cool little unit. Interested? Dan -

Hello Everyone, Up for sale here is an early Commodore 64 (5-pin video output) in excellent cosmetic condition, along with the brick-like power supply and a spare Commodore 64 to use for parts. The primary unit is in working condition, however the space bar is a bit picky about where you press it. If you tap the space bar on the right end, it doesn't always register the key stroke. If you press it in the middle or on the left, it does seem to work fine. I have popped the keyboard open and cleaned the contacts, but it seems that this minor issue is caused primarily by the space bar's travel, as opposed to intermittent and dirty contacts. Otherwise, the computer seems to work great, boots up to the normal C64 blue screen, runs programs off of disk, cassette, and cartridge, etc. Joystick ports have been tested, all other keys seem to be working pretty well, etc. Cosmetically, this computer looks GREAT, and still sports the original light tan case color (as opposed to the darker, more yellow hue the plastic tends to become with age). The power supply seem to be working good too, and other than two small chunks broken off at the corner of the cooling fins on one side, it also looks good. The spare parts computer is missing the case screws, however its keyboard and motherboard are all fully intact (the chips on this unit are all soldered directly to the board). Overall, just a good way to start into the world of the Commodore 64. With a bit of tinkering, along with the parts from the spare unit, it shouldn't be too hard to get it functioning 100%. !!!SOLD!!! Price: $50 + shipping !!!SOLD!!! Anyone else notice odd Ebay "SOLD" Atari items lately?
Retro-Z replied to ACML's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
About those items that sell for ridiculous amounts of money but then are re-listed not too long afterwards... I sold a sealed, never used vintage toy from a popular cartoon series a while back. I had to auction the thing 4 times due to people bidding it up SUPER high (well past the normal market price), and then not paying. I have had this problem with other similar items, but only for toys and video games from the 1980s and early 90s. There's something about these items that attract non-paying bidders. I eventually gave up and just sold the item I mentioned cheap to a local collector so I wouldn't have to deal with that anymore. Moral of the story, it may not be the dealers taking part in the "funny business". In my experience, the bidders seem to be the problem, whatever their motives are. Seeing how Ebay "sold item" searches don't take into account non-paying bidders, it could be as simple as some people hoping to artificially inflate the "worth" of some items. -

The CoCo cartridges are pretty hard to find. Even in the giant lot of CoCo stuff I picked up a few months ago, there were only a few cartridges. However, there was a TON of software on tape and disk (mostly subscription software). It seems a lot of the original CoCo users approached software purchases the same way. You can get some of the older cassette games pretty cheap in Ebay lots, so it's worth looking for a working Tandy/Radio-Shack cassette drive (CCR-81, CCR-82, etc.). Many of the best games were on cassette anyway (like Donkey King and other software titles produced at Tom Mix). Or try out ROM images and load them up to the CoCo via a PC or iPod... I did find Dungeons of Daggorath mixed in with an Atari 5200 system/games at an antique store the other day, but the seller thought it went with the 5200 and wouldn't sell it separately... sigh...
