Hello All, I've been reading this forum for many years and just recently became a member. I have some items I'm needing to clear out, and thought some of the members here may be able to use some of these. I have some great selling references, including: 1. Ebay username "Longbranch42"- I have a feedback score of nearly 400 with a 100% approval rating 2. U.S. Militaria Forum (usmilitariaforum.com) username "Longbranch"- Lots of great feedback in the seller's feedback section 3. Member of rangefinderforum.com and good history as a seller there as well (username Burninfilm) Yes, I have a lot of interests, but I've been into the casual gaming scene for over 20 years, and as can be seen if you check the references listed above, I'm not here to waste your time or scam anyone out of money. I take pride in providing excellent service to those willing to buy items from me. I don't want to waste your time by selling junk. Everything is sold "as-described", but I do everything possible to describe things accurately. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a PM. Here is what I have: If interested, just send me a PM. PLEASE keep in mind that all of the prices INCLUDE shipping. 1. Texas Instruments TI-99/4A Computer setup (later beige model): We'll start out with this classic piece of Texas Instruments tech. The TI-99/4A was part of Texas Instrument's continuing attempt to get a piece of the home computer market. Unfortunately, it did not work, and these beige TI-99/4As were the last of the line. This example is in excellent, working condition, complete with the original power supply and RF adapter, as well as a matching beige aftermarket joystick (joystick works, but could benefit from being opened up and cleaned for 100% reliable operation). I have never tested this with any software, but judging by the condition and obvious lack of use, I'd be extremely surprised if there was something wrong with the cartridge, cassette, or disk drive ports. I have plugged everything in and fired it up, and it boots up to the title screen perfectly, and goes right into BASIC when it's selected. There is a LOT of New Old Stock software available right now for this computer model, and if you like retro game systems and computers, it's definitely worth a look. Price: SOLD!!! $40 SHIPPED (within the U.S.) SOLD!!! 1980s & Early 90s IBM/PC Compatible Games: I picked up a large lot of boxed games a while back, and after several years, I still haven't used any of them or acquired a machine to run them. Consequently, they really need to go to new homes where they can be better appreciated. For the most part, these games include the original disks, box, and manual (unless otherwise indicated). Some minor items that were originally present may not be included. Boxes are in very good to excellent, used condition (light wear on the exterior). There will be no major damage to the boxes/packaging except where I specifically mention it. This is only the start of this boxed game lot... I'll be listing many more over the next few days. PLEASE do not PM me looking for a certain title. All of the games will be listed soon enough... just be sure to keep checking the Marketplace here! Here's what's available: A few things to note: - None of these have been tested, and are being sold "as-is". They have literally been sitting in a box the last 4-5 years since I got them. - Prices INCLUDE shipping. If you buy more than one, I would combine shipping, which should reduce the overall cost quite a bit. - Prices are negotiable, if you feel my prices are out of line. - "Shipping" isn't just throwing the boxed game in an envelope and letting the USPS crush it along its journey. These will be padded with bubble wrap and foam peanuts and placed inside a box to insure they will arrive exactly as they were sent. SOLD!!! Package Deal!!!: Buy all of the IBM/Tandy compatible games listed here for $65 shipped! Saves me time this way!!! SOLD!!! 2. Megaman (appears complete)- A fairly hard to find game, complete with the original manual, 3.5" and 5.25" floppy disks, and a few extra little pack-ins (registration card, "Buy-2 Get One Free" promotional offer). Great condition overall. SOLD!!! Price: $45 Shipped (within the U.S.) SOLD!!! 3. Sim City (appears complete)- The original Sim City game, which led to so many others! Includes the outer box, inner box, 3.5" disk, 5.25" disks 1 & 2, user manuals/guides, cards, promotional offers, and the Sim City Terrain Editor (with 5.25" disks 1 & 2). Great used condition. Manuals show some light wear and have some handwriting on them in a few spots. SOLD!!! Price: $25 Shipped (within the U.S.) SOLD!!! 4. Lemmings (appears complete)- This was one of the highest rated games of the early 90s. The original sale price of $38 can be seen on the packaging (games were expensive even back then!). Includes the inner & outer boxes, 3.5" disk, manual, and registration card. The boxes show some light crushing to the face (can be seen in the pictures if you look close), and the outer box still has the original shrink wrap. SOLD!!! Price: $25 Shipped (within the U.S.) SOLD!!! 5. Warlords II (appears complete)- This game has a copyright date of 1993, and appears to be a typical medieval strategy game. Includes outer box, inner box, 3.5" game disks 1 & 2, Scenario Builder disks 1, 2, & 3, and a few promotional cards. Outer box shows light wear to the surface and corners, and a some small creases on the face. Still looks pretty good, and it's a fairly difficult game to locate. SOLD!!! Price: $20 Shipped (within the U.S.) SOLD!!! 6. Classic lot of 5 early 90s shareware games (including Commander Keen, Duke Nukem, etc.)- A nice clean lot of games from the heyday of shareware. These particular versions were commonly sold at Radio Shack stores. Included in this lot are: Commander Keen Goodbye Galaxy, Duke Nukum (aka Nukem), Secret Agent, Hearts (not pictured), and Hexx (not pictured). The clear plastic packaging shows some light surface wear, but is fully intact and undamaged. The original sticker seals are still present, but I can't tell if these were carefully opened by the original owner, or if they were never used and the seals have come loose due to age. The odd Duke Nukum name came from the publisher's (Apogee) concern that "Duke Nukem" was already trademarked, so the name "Nukum" was used for a short while. Secret Agent and Commander Keen are also Apogee published games. Hexx and Hearts were dug up after I took pictures, and the packaging is basically identical to the other 3 games shown. SOLD!!! Price: $20 Shipped (within the U.S.) SOLD!!! Terms: Accepted forms of payment are Paypal or USPS Money Orders. Shipping will be via USPS Standard or Priority within the U.S. This does NOT include shipping insurance. This can be added at the buyer's expense, just inform me you'd like insurance and I'll refigure the total cost. I am more than happy to ship items internationally, just send me a PM and I'll figure up the total to take the international shipping costs into account. Be aware that international shipping will likely be $50-$75, maybe more. The buyer is granted a 7-day return policy IF the item does not match my description, but return shipping must be paid for by the buyer and must include tracking. If classic computing is your thing, or want to get started, be sure to keep checking the marketplace here, as I'll have quite a few more items to list over the next few days. Thanks for looking, and have a great day!!!

The CoCo 3 is SOLD!!! CoCo 1 setup is STILL AVAILABLE! -
Hello All, Just wanted to pass on some advice regarding an aftermarket Commodore 64/Vic-20 composite video cable being sold on Ebay. I purchased one of these, and it is incredibly defective. The seller did offer to allow a return for a full refund, but I didn't want to pay to ship a faulty item back just for the few dollars I'd get for the returned item. The seller is aware that other Ebay buyers are having issues with this cable, as they stated some buyers reported problems. At first I felt maybe my early model C64 was simply having an issue, but after purchasing a different cable from another Ebay vendor, it was obvious the 1st cable was complete junk. The cable ends aren't even the right colors (yellow for audio, white for video???)!!! When plugged in "correctly", the audio made an obnoxious buzzing and the video was only in black & white!!! Here is the cable you DON'T want!!!: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commodore-64-128-VIC-20-Monitor-Cable-AV-A-V-Cable-/171133765096?pt=US_Video_Game_Cables_Adapters&hash=item27d85e05e8 Don't waste your money. Buy something else. This one worked great: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231133276547?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Just hoping to save some AtariAge forum members from wasting their money.

The CoCo 1 I have for sale features Extended Color BASIC. The 16k CoCo 1 computers were all equipped with Extended Color BASIC. I believe it was only the 4k models that had just Color BASIC. -

LOL. Thanks for the compliments. Just hoping to give people a good idea of what to expect. This hobby should be enjoyed, not spent wondering what exactly you'll be receiving or if you just got scammed . Life is to short for that. -

Star Maze by Roklan (for the Atari 8-bit computers): This game is in excellent, fully working condition. Nice clean label, works perfectly on my Atari 800 and 600XL computers, and the cartridge case is completely undamaged. This cartridge is often referred to as "Extremely Rare" on a few of the online rarity guides available for the Atari 8-bit cartridge based computer games. The AtariAge rarity guide doesn't even include the rarity information. While I personally think the term "rare" is terribly overused, this game very seldom comes up for sale. Just a nice clean copy of a difficult to acquire Atari 8-bit computer cartridge game. Price: $85 Shipped (within the U.S.) Terms: Accepted forms of payment are Paypal or USPS Money Orders. Shipping will be via USPS First Class or Priority within the U.S. International shipping will be via USPS First Class International. This does NOT include shipping insurance. Here is what I have: If interested, just send me a PM. PLEASE keep in mind that all of the prices INCLUDE shipping. 1. Radio Shack TRS-80 Color Computer (CoCo 1) Model 3002 (16k) System w/ 5 cartridges and 1 joystick: This is a complete, basic system consisting of the CoCo 1 computer, 4 games, Diagnostic cartridge, and one of the standard Radio Shack joysticks. No extra power supply is required since this system has a built-in power supply. Uses a standard RCA cable w/ adapter to hook up to your TV's cable input, or can be converted to use composite AV cables fairly easily. The computer is in good, fully working condition. The case shows some light wear to the paint, as well as a repaired section on the back corner by the power switch (the corner was damaged due to poor packing when it was shipped to me). It still looks great, and the repair can't be seen when sitting on a shelf or desk. The standard keyboard has been fully disassembled and cleaned (over 200 separate components!!!) and works great as well. All of the cartridges come in the original boxes, though the boxes show extensive wear, and some of the cartridge labels show some wear as well. All of the cartridges work great and include the original instruction manuals, and still look presentable despite the wear to the boxes and some of the labels. The included diagnostic cartridge was designed for use with these early 4k and 16k CoCo 1s, and is very handy for checking that everything is working correctly (yes, this computer passes all of the tests). The joystick is in excellent cosmetic and working condition. The computer is completely original, and still had the factory warranty sticker intact before I opened the case to clean the keyboard contacts. This was the top-of-the-line CoCo 1 when it was produced in the early 1980s, shortly before the 32k and 64k Color Computers were introduced. The disk drive connection has not been tested since I do not have a working Color Computer compatible disk drive. All other connection ports have been tested and are fully functional. All in all, a great way to get into the CoCo series of computers and video games if you are only interested in the cartridge based software. Price: $70 Shipped (within the U.S.) 2. Tandy Color Computer 3 (128k) w/ Original Box, Manuals, A/V Cord, and Dust Cover: This is the top-of-the-line, last production model of the Color Computer series. They are easily upgradable to 512k+, and can play a lot of interesting homebrew games still being developed for the Color Computer. This example shows some light wear/discoloration to the case (no yellowing), but is still in very good condition. It likely just needs a good, thorough cleaning to the keyboard and case. The computer has been tested and appears to be 100% functional. The video output looks great on my 32" Vizio flatscreen, and with the built in composite video connections, there isn't really any need to upgrade the video output. The box shows moderate shelf/storage wear, but is still fully intact and would look fine sitting on a shelf for display. The foam inserts are included, as well as the original plastic wrap for the computer. The manuals and dust cover are in good condition. The disk drive connection has not been tested since I do not have a working Color Computer compatible disk drive. All other connection ports have been tested and are fully functional. Not much else to say... just a great starter setup for anyone interested in trying out the CoCo system, especially if you are wanting to try out some software that is not cartridge based. Price: SOLD $95 Shipped (within the U.S.) SOLD Terms: Accepted forms of payment are Paypal or USPS Money Orders. Shipping will be via USPS Standard or Priority within the U.S. This does NOT include shipping insurance. This can be added at the buyer's expense, just inform me you'd like insurance and I'll refigure the total cost. Just a thought? Pinned minimum selling guidelines....
Retro-Z replied to OldSchoolRetroGamer's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I've seen several approaches to strengthening the quality of the "For Sale" sections at many different online discussion forums. One that I always liked was allowing all members to view the for sale forums, and even allowing new members to purchase items from sellers. However, this site also strongly advised buyers to send payments via Paypal and NOT as a "gift", so that if the seller WAS a scammer, Paypal buyer protection could be utilized. In order to sell, you had to have at least 50 posts. The logic at this site was that this number was high enough to discourage most scammers, but low enough so that members truly interested in contributing to the site would likely hit that minimum of 50 posts in a fairly short amount of time. Also, with a posting history 50 posts long, it was possible to see if the seller was truly interested in adding to the community, or was building up their post counts with "I like it" and "thumbs up" types of posts so they could make a sale ad. This system seemed to work for that site very well. I'm also a member of a few other sites that require a paid subscription or membership to allow posting ads. I always thought this was fair, especially if you were planning to sell more than just a few little items. The seller gets to sell items to an interested audience, pays a small portion to the website, and the website gets a bit of funding to pay server/maintenance fees associated with running the site. Ebay/Paypal fees are about 15% of the final selling price, and generally the discussion forum sites require $25 for the subscription (good for a year). If planning on selling over $100 worth of merchandise, I'd much rather give my money to help support a site like this as opposed to giving those dollars to Ebay. Still another method is to charge fees for every ad posted. One site charges $7 for items that total over $100, and $3 for items under $100. Over course, this site is focused on high-end photographic equipment (where $1000+ transactions aren't uncommon), and the members are generally very cautious about a deal seeming "too good to be true". I don't think this site has had much of a problem with scamming, despite the unusually high proportion of high dollar transactions. I have sold many high dollar items at this site, often to overseas buyers with low post counts, and have never had a problem. Its very hard for people with low post counts to get any buyers at this site, as most of the members will only buy from other well established members, and if a seller does have a low post count, prospective buyers generally expect to get some selling references (Ebay account feedback rating, other established members confirming the seller as legit, etc.). Lots of ways to approach this... -
I have a boxed Commodore 64C I'd be willing to sell. Are you aware of the price range you are wanting to pay?

Finally finished Defenders of Oasis for the Sega Game Gear. Tried it out on a friend's Game Gear 10+ years ago... and finished it as a Virtual Console game on the Nintendo 2DS over the weekend.

Interesting point. You'll notice that about 80-90% of the items on the Ebay "auction" site are actually fixed price listings. This leaves a tiny majority of items that are actually being auctioned in the traditional sense. The current Ebay is more like Amazon.com with an auction feature. With some patience, it is still possible to find Atari 8-bit items at garage sales and flea markets. Buying in lots as mentioned earlier is also good advice.

Ebay is a funny place. While some incredibly common items are often listed up as "rare", there are some items that are actually rare that SEEM to be common if you search for them on Ebay. For all the complaints I have for Ebay, it is still one of the best places to find things you wouldn't normally come across "in the wild".
