Reading about modern consoles only makes me more grateful for my classic consoles: no updates, no reboots, no DLC to nickel and dime me to death, and no DRM or prohibitions against used games. They JUST WORK.

  ... and they'll go on "just working" because they're completely standalone, blissfully unaware that it isn't the early 1980s anymore.
  
  I should also add to my earlier list: ZERO load times (thanks to the ROM cartridge), no monitoring of your behavior for targeted marketing (or other even more nefarious purposes), and the games are readily and cheaply available. And you can play them even if you don't have an Internet connection!
