I'm watching the 1983 special "From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga" on VHS. They spend a lot of time talking about all the work that went into the "Lapti Nek" music number from the original "Return of the Jedi"; it's sad to think that it was all ripped out and replaced with an inferior CGI-fest in the "Special Edition."

  Lucas also mentions that, after the first Star Wars movie, Darth Vader grew into a bigger and more popular character than he expected. To me, that directly contradicts his more recent insistence that the entire saga was "really about Darth Vader all along."

  Wife is watching New Hope on TNT. She's a Special Edition denier and didn't believe me when I told her that they added a lot of new effects in the late 1990's. She insists they are the same as they've ever been.
