The mediocre reviews of "Alien: Covenant" make me realize that, despite all the marketing hype whenever an original director returns to a genre or franchise they pioneered, it hardly ever seems to work. Except for George Miller ("Mad Max: Fury Road") and Sylvester Stallone ("Rocky Balboa" and "Rambo"), how many have succeeded in even matching the quality of their earlier work?

  Yeah, I guess he'd be another exception, although I personally think the original "Terminator" is still the better movie.
