  1. Teaching summer C++ programming classes is ... challenging. I'm having to cover data types, function call and return, user-defined data types, object-oriented programming, pointers and references, and memory allocation and deallocation, all in less than five weeks.

      Wow, that's usually spread over a 5 month class or 2 -- even in college.

      Yes, I usually teach this class during a full semester, but this is my first time doing it during the summer. It's challenging because there's not really enough time to do the topics justice, particularly pointers and memory.
