  The flip flop thing is a bad idea too. Saw a guy trip while walking into a hardware store the other day. A flip flop grabbed on the edge of the entrance mat. Dude rolled his ankle. Men need to dress in a practical manner like men and not some soft blubbery pile of comfort.

  @Jaybird: +1 on the sandals, although I would add an exception for waterfront/pool/boat use.
  
  Wearing socks with sandals in *any* scenario, however, is punishable by death.
  
  Also, "sandals" must NEVER mean "Crocs." Crocs are also punishable by death.
  
  Socks + Crocs = death, revival back to life, then death again.
