Random thought: Watching an old MST3K, it occurs to me that much of the humor that made it great wouldn't work anymore.

  I was more interested in the segments with Mike, Joel, Tom Servo, Crow, Gypsy, etc. over the films they were watching. Ditto for Doctor Morgus.

  I still like it as much now as I did then, but there are a few too many Minnesota-based jokes that most people won't get.

  ^ Oh, I still love MST3K too, and I don't even mind the regional humor because I can at least understand it, even if I don't know what they're referencing. But I wonder if it will hold up well over time. Its humor depends on a cultural context that is so different from what younger audiences are familiar with.
