Another brilliant idea from Atari CEO Frederic Chesnais: "I'm not talking about just a new refrigerator ... but, like, a refrigerator. A gamified refrigerator. It's not what we are going to do, but think about something like that! Like, a new type of fridge is something we 'could do.' A refrigerator, branded, where you don't have just an 'ordinary fridge.'"

My world is over, my heart is dead ... I reach for her, but grasp only emptiness ... I wander alone, searching and yearning ... why go on, living without hope?

Seeing purenergy's birthday listed today is a sad reminder that he died too young. RIP Brad.

It may not be a fashionable opinion, but as a teacher of millenials who spend nearly every waking minute staring at their smartphones, I think he's right: http://www.timesofisrael.com/netanyahu-rants-against-smartphones/

With the glut of "Official Preorder" threads and the solid wall of "Best Game of All Time!!!" polls, the Intellivision/Aquarius forum has been almost unreadable these past few days.

Safari on the iPad can't seem to handle multiple tabs too well: it eventually blows up on me whenever I have more than five or six open at once, especially tabs containing lots of images.

I just added another obscure vintage system to my collection: the Videomaster Star Chess, a 1979 dedicated console from the UK! Now to get a PAL-compatible TV and power converter so I can play it here in the US ...

I've been rediscovering the fun of Construx building toys this weekend with my nine-year-old nephew. Why did Fischer-Price have to discontinue these?

Since several of the systems we talk about here date from the 1970s, I'm thinking that AtariAge should have an optional skin made up of burnt orange, avocado, harvest gold, and fake wood paneling, to re-create the look of a 1970s living room or den.

Happy 83rd Birthday, Leonard Nimoy! May you continue to live long and prosper.

Since everyone in the world is so obsessed with Flappy Bird, I thought I'd suggest a sequel, "Flappy Bird 2: Ploppy Poop", a side-scrolling game in which the player's bird has to hit the targets on the ground with its droppings.

This "game" is actually starting to take more shape in my mind: in addition to hitting the targets, you have to keep eating food in mid-air (so you can keep making more poop), and the farther the poop falls, the higher you score when you hit something.
Sort of a combination of 2600 Fast Food and Canyon Bomber.

I'm already getting tired of hearing about Flappy Bird.
