    I wanted to give NES emulation on Android a try, so I just played Legacy of the Wizard all the way through on my NVIDIA Shield (and using no cheat codes!). The directional pad is a little loose, but I'm very happy with it otherwise. Now, on to set up MAME and DOSBox ...

    Student behavior amazes me. I gave them a Microsoft Excel assignment last week, I walked them through every step of the solution in class, and the students didn't pay attention, didn't bother to take notes, and didn't even begin working on it until the day before the due date. Now they're complaining that the assignment is too hard.

      @CyranoJ: Unfortunately, I'll probably end up doing exactly that, and not just because of this one assignment. I'm just going to have to explain to them that problem-solving skills aren't always easy to obtain, otherwise everyone would have them and they wouldn't be so valuable. But they'll probably be too busy playing with their smartphones to notice.

    I just love eBay buyers who neg you without bothering to contact you first. I've had 100% feedback since I joined eBay in 2000, but not anymore. :(

      I'm so sorry. I joined in 2k2, and only had bogus negs. People will see the isolated event, and still bid with confidence.

      Yes they will. While I never had a neg in 14 years of epay membership, I have purchased from plenty o'users with a few bad marks. I immediately saw they were isolated and had no problem with the deal.

       

      Besides, don't the negs fall off after X amount of time now?

      I didn't know that, but I think you're right: it seems that the negs go away after six months (that wasn't the case when I joined). It still ticks me off, but at least it isn't permanent.

      From what I've read, iOS 7 should be compatible with the iPhone 4 or later and the iPad 2 or later.

       

      Apple's update servers are busy, so it took me a few tries to download and verify it. Just wait a while and try again if you get an "update unavailable" error.

    I just picked up the Alien Quadrilogy, so I'm finally getting to see all four of the Alien films for the first time (yes, I'm a little slow about certain things).

      That seems to be the consensus: the first two rate higher than the last two. Except for Aliens, I'll be watching the theatrical versions of all four films.

    Just received an NVIDIA Shield and carrying case! I've never used Android very much, and have only played the included Sonic game so far, but it's a great little gaming system! Very solid build quality, with a nice retinal touchscreen and stereo speakers. I'd like to try to develop for it.
