  1. Within the last week on his Youtube channel he mentioned uploading them all to Archive.org.

and he mentioned he is missing the first 4 Colecovisions podcast. @Ikrananka,I'm sure he'd love to get those first 4 from you.

It should be queued up at the right point, but watch from about the 2:30 mark

    Yo!

Unfortunately... via Skype.  If it was in person I'd LOVE to meet ya!  I'll be up there at some point though... so only a matter of time.

    Thanks!

If you do go to Vancouver, don't let CMart talk you into visiting his collector's dungeon, he'll just bore you to death with his Spikers, Playcables, and Keyboard Components and won't share his expensive wine with you. 😉

They have people behind it if you look at the FE sellout rate and they would rather wait until Summer for the big reveals so they have more impact on release.

Tommy has more than once stated that they are saving the marketing budget, big announcements, and promotion push for

    E3 2020 that starts June 9th

Unfortunately that isn't good enough for a small number of self entitled people hiding behind their keyboards trying to artificially stir up negative click-bait hit pieces.  I think it is a credit to Tommy that the Amico has gotten the awareness it has without spending a dime of the 11 million dollar plus marketing budget and without crowd-funding (and no, the FE is not crowd funding in any shape or form, it is a just pre-order down payment.)

    Hi!,

Thanks so much for joining us and thanks for the kind words.

I must admit... I'm not too familiar with the 3M bookshelf series.  I'd love to find out more.

What would you suggest in terms of getting more info and learning more?

Are there any YouTube videos discussing or explaining or playing?

Are there other games like this that you would recommend besides the 2 you stated?  Are more than one able to play at a time?  Or are they single player games?  If multiple players... how many total at once?

Thanks again for wandering in and I hope you'll stay and check in often.  Looking forward to finding out more about these games.

  5. @Tommy Tallarico, I don't know about the rest of the world, but 3 on 3 hockey has become popular in Canada, especially as a spring league after regular league play is done.

1 goalie a side and 3 players. Sounds perfect for an 8 controller or 6 controller (with computer controlled goalies)

Has this mode been considered for the Amico Hockey game?

Also, are the controllers location-aware of each other (namely could you wave your controller at another player's controller to pass the puck or exchange dice?)

    Consider it DONE!!

His name wouldn't happen to be Tony would it?

    :D

Nope, Patrick, but he is Italian 😉. I think he used to leave work early to watch you and Victor. But of course, this has nothing to do with the Amico Q and A, so I will ask a question on his behalf:

Will there be Tommy Tallarico bobble heads, action figures, or at least a Funko Pop figure, preferably wearing an Amico t-shirt?

He also said you can't turn the car in Forza and threatened to kick his co-host "right in the ding ding" if he defended a baseball game   🤣   (I miss that show)   But....   what the heck does any of that have do to with the Amico?

I have a friend that would be honored if you kicked him right in the ding-ding at the next Video Games Live in Edmonton or at PRGE.

Once again, I said you lied. People lie every day but I wouldn't call them liars. I didn't call you a liar, you working that angle instead of proving  that I was wrong shows you know I am correct.

This has to be one of the most ridiculous misuses of the english language I've heard in years. That's like saying "I said he died, but I wouldn't call him dead..."

Yeah... I like that Sydney Hunter game... haven't tried Princess Quest yet... is it good?  I have Christmas Carol... would be a cool holiday title.

Princess Quest is an earlier and fun "Ghost and Goblins"-type game by the very prolific nanochess (who also did programmed Sydney Hunter,) it even has boss battles. @cmart604probably has 30 copies in his dungeon if you need one ;-)

Yeah!  Totally!  I could see us doing Homebrews for sure.  I think it shows the passion and love for the original system which is important for us to communicate.

The issue would be to keep the pricing low... which may be upsetting to the homebrew folks as they typically need to charge a LOT of money ($40 - $80) because of having to do physical carts and development costs due to only a few hundred units sold.  So if they were willing to only make around $1 - $1.50 for each game (that would include taking our cut as well as I could see us selling them for around $2 or $3 each) then I wouldn't have a problem.  But if they were looking to sell them at $9.99 and keeping most of it... it wouldn't make sense for us.  They would need to look at is as "free money" basically.  Especially if we have millions of units out there.  I would think they would make a lot more money at a cheaper price point then they would selling them as physical carts to the homebrew community.

Are there any homebrewers in here?  If so... would like to know your thoughts.

Given the cost of materials (box/manual/cart/PCB) and more importantly the time spent programming, we definitely aren't in it for the money. The $2 to $3 each would be reasonable to me, although a lot of homebrew releases are unofficial ports of games for the arcade or other consoles and would never be allowed into your store. There are some officially licenced ports from Elektronite that might need a re-licence and a few truly original games like Christmas Carol, Princess Quest, and Sydney Hunter & The Sacred Tribe.

I really like the look and feel of Night Stalker but one picky thing really bugs me. The robots are too close to the 60s Lost in Space robot, especially when you already have two distinctive robots in your inventory to draw from:

The guy on the right side is a 3d model I made and 3d printed a couple years ago but why not use these two robots from the classic cover instead of the ones in the demo?

And how about official action figures of them? 😉

  12. As an exercise to satisfy my curiosity,  I went through all the major companies that are list on the AtariAge main site and went through the manuals looking for games that used the Asteroids style controls (rotate left/rotate right/thrust up/hyperspace down/fire or similar) as well as games that only used left or right like Space Invaders or AstroBlast

By no means complete here is a rough list of 2600 games that could be compatible:

If there is a dash in the game name and controls columns that means no games from that company have compatible controls schemes

A couple of games have no controls listed because I couldn't conclusively tell but they bear further investigation.

If a company doesn't appear then I didn't drill into it so there will be more 😉

Keeping in mind that I only spent an hour, have a look. I think we could crowd source the investigation of the 2600/8-bit/7800/ColecoVision and come up with a pretty decent master list

Aside from the Asteroids Controller, there are other things I want to mention today in this news bulletin: Pre-orders for the Mystery Man Collection have been very good so far, but I believe it will be a little difficult to find buyers for all 85 copies of each game. So with Mystery Man's accord, I have decided to reduce the number of manufactured copies of each game, and also to add one game to the collection, namely Monaco GP which is an SG-1000 port like the others. I will likely add Monaco GP to teampixelboy.com next week-end.

So now the produced quantities will be as follows:

    - GP World : 60 copies
    - Mikie : 60 copies
    - Monaco GP : 60 copies
    - N-Sub : 60 copies
    - Sega Flipper : 50 copies
    - Sindbad Mystery : 60 copies
    - Star Jacker : 60 copies
    - Zaxxon II : 90 copies
    - Zoom 909 : 60 copies

It should also be noted that Zoom 909 is more elaborate than Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom. IMHO, it includes a better boss battle and a whole new level type as seen below. Mystery Man also tweaked the control scheme of the overhead view to be more controllable than the original.

Hang on though, I have a copy of Mario Bros. from Sept 2013 that has the same type of text file with it.  So I'm guessing that Mario Bros. (not for resale version) was added in Sept that year.

Possibly, if it was added I missed the update message...I do have Mario Bros and Mr Chin, but they came with the Atari Max Ultimate SD in the CollectorVision Bonus folder

    https://www.atarimax.com/colecosd/documentation/

    Both roms are dated 05/27/2010

  15. This is what I have in a folder called "CollectorVision Members" that I believe is what you are referring to

If only someone would 3D print a holder that has the two controllers side-by-side...

    Never happen ;-)

There is a serious (painful almost) design flaw I never got around to addressing, it does work great with the game engine I designed that was the inspiration for the holder's design. Maybe I'll finish it some day before 2030.
