Episode 37 is in the editing stage now.  It will be out before PRGE, good sir!

Great, now I have to listen to cmart  in the rover, can I pay you to NOT finish? 😉

It had better be. I have a 5-6 hour drive ahead of me. 😎

What? Are you going to drive well under the speed limit just so you can hear yourself longer? I think I'd rather listen to British Siri prattle on about motorways and roundabouts...

I'd like too say yes, but with all that's going on in my personal and work life right now, I can't.

I for one welcome the absence of a new podcast episode so I don't have to listen to it on repeat in Cmart's vehicle on the way to PRGE. I'd rather listen to British Siri prattle on about "motorways" and "round-a-bouts"...😉

I for one... prefer you to leave.  And although you think you are being civil to others... you've been completely disrespectful to me and my career (just a music guy... what does he know?)  You sound like every other bully on the playground growing up and all of the other short-sighted biased folks who told me every successful idea I had for the past 30 years was a bad one.  So if you want to go start your own thread discussing the Amico on this board and what you feel our challenges will be (and how the guy running it is crazy if he thinks he's going to sell millions of machines)... then please... be my guest!!  No one is stopping you.

But please leave this thread which I created to be a positive place where people can ask me questions about the system and have positive dialogues.  POSITIVE.  Not ass-kissing... positive and inquisitive.  Your way of confronting and interacting with people doesn't fit here in my thread.  Read the heading... Q&A.  It's not a thread where I'm interested in disproving your opinion on why you think I don't know what I'm doing and how I'm doing everything wrong and I'm just a music guy.   Your negativity and arguing everyone's points has completely ruined the spirit of why I created this thread.

What started out as a cool thing has quickly turned into an opinion war fueled by your stubborness and inability to see any other scenario except your own.  If you're interested in doing that.  Fine.  Go do it in another thread... not mine.   I have time to answer maybe 2 or 3 questions a day here.  Instead, its you and your buddy (yeah... we noticed) trying to argue points with as many people as you can.  So instead of finding questions... I find you and your biased confrontational responses and everyone responding to them.  But hey... it's the internet... I get it.  It's not the first time some anonymous "know it all" hiding behind a screen has tried to ruin a good thing.... and it won't be the last.

But just thought that you would like to be made aware that the person who started this thread doesn't appreciate how you interact and would prefer it if you left as you are ruining the spirit of this thread.  Please feel free to start your own if you'd like.

    Thanks.

Hey, Tommy. In the top right of the screen is a dropdown with your user name. In there is an option for Ignored Users.

Sometimes you need to add users to your ignore list in order to make a thread's experience tolerable, especially since you started the thread and it seems like a never ending loop of "...I will make you see that my opinion is the most important!" The number of posts and rebuttals in this thread in the last 24 hours made it hard for legitimate news, questions, and answers to be picked up from the chaff.

I really love how the cover art for Volume 2 turned out from the original sketch. I think I want Rev to get a poster made of it. Maybe a double wide poster with both covers.

  5. Hi all.

I'm about to release officially IntyBASIC v1.4.0 with new features, corrections and enhancements.

But before doing it "officially" I need your help to check if your current programs compile with this new version of compiler and post here with your OK.

I've been careful but I'm trying not to release version after version because small bugs ;)

    Thanks!

Edit: for some reason I couldn't upload the ZIP here, so find it here https://github.com/nanochess/IntyBASIC/releases/tag/1.4.0

o Tracker allows playing 8 channels of music (using ECS PSG)

o Now detects failure of flow control when using GOTO to jump wrongly between procedures.

o Detects wrong flow of control (GOTO to PROCEDURE or GOSUB to non-PROCEDURE)

o Name mangling for assembler now uses original names, easing assembler interface.

o Support for local labels (using period character before a label, uses last global label as prefix)

o Added MUSIC GOSUB, MUSIC RETURN, MUSIC VOLUME and MUSIC SPEED.

o Added contrib/accel.bas it shows how to move sprites by fractions of pixel (contributed by intvnut)

o VOICE INIT now "shuts up" the Intellivision (contributed by intvnut) and the initializatin is done in automatic form at start of program.

o FLASH INIT SIZE to choose Flash memory size.

o Allows constants in DATA PACKED.

o Added ON expr FAST to avoid two instructions.

o Generates warnings for AND/OR/XOR and small operators non-parenthesized.

    o Now direct CONT1, CONT2, CONT3 and CONT4 generate 8-bit results.

o Solved bug where IF CONT.B0 THEN wouldn't work, also ABS and SGN.

    o Compatibility with Tutorvision consoles.

Perfect timing! I have a bunch of things to test with. Thanks!

In this special episode, Rick, Cmart and Paul talk about their adventures at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2018. It's chock-full of exciting Intellivision content, both old and new! The Blue Sky Rangers panel (Intellivision - A Legacy of Firsts!), which was moderated by Paul is also included. And there are tales of border crossings, Intellivision Day 2018, and something Rick knows nothing about but will soon. Oh, and our good buddy George is here too, still a bit bitter about not being invited to the expo. Maybe next year, George?

After the border bootlegger experience, next year I'm flying direct. Having to listen to the Special Episode 8 over and over for the duration of the drive down, punctuated by Sexy English Voice Nav System's constant need to mis-direct us through "round-abouts" and "motorways" has cured me of road trips with Cmart...(that, and the over use of "Don-ed" throughout Lazy Episode 9)  ;)

  7. Match 5 was the first game that uses flash memory for saving high scores.

I don't know if there is a definative list, but Super Pro Gosub and Secret Government Waffle Project also use the Save to Flash feature of the JLP board for high scores and/or progress saving.

  8. I'm not trying to be a drama queen. As I said I WOULD be interested in the future when my Colecovision breaks. That's just not now.

At least I know that I can't use an HDMI->Composite adapter on a CRT TV and expect sub-microsecond ping time on such a converter. Now I got proof. Thanks for showing me. :)

By the way isn't that the number one reason to use a CRT TV for video games, for sub-microsecond ping on devices that are natively 240p or 480i?

It's conversion between resolutions which causes more ping problems than display technologies. If they make a 1 ms HDMI monitor, then that last statement is true.

"Ping"...you don't know what the word means...please stop using it...
