I waited long to remove the battery from my NGPC because I didn't want to lose all my saves, and it would be cool if I don't have to unlock everything in Match of the Millenium again.

I know that developer actually released games but I would strongly advised against backing that campaign. I have seen more solid campaigns fail. I'm not saying it's a scam and that the developer is willingly trying to deceive people, but I don't see how this could end well...

To be really honest, I recently hesitated strongly to buy the CD-i like controller for Switch that Limited Run is making for Arzette, although I didn't plan on using it anyway. I even put it in my cart but changed my mind. That being said, it was less than $40 iirc. So even though a part of me would want it just as a funny souvenir, if it's more than $50, and it probably will be, then nope.

Analogue mode is always a 'basic' pixel perfect mode, regardless of the system emulated.

Like I said earlier, I don't think I've ever complained about necrobumping. Meanwhile I've complained several times about people creating new topics, but not when it was done to avoid necrobumping. On the contrary. What annoys me is when 3-4 topics are created in a row about the same subject, especially when it's by the same person (hello pdubs) on the stupid ground that some AtariAge users would (allegedly) never leave a specific section of the forums. I mean if they're not curious about anything beside, say, the Atari 7800, that's on them. What are we going to do next? Sending them a PM to inform them?

Early Crash Bandicoot games were indeed exclusives, but it changed after 2000 when Sony stopped publishing the series (Vivendi got it then Activision). I'm not even sure Tekken was an exclusive, but Namco was clearly a big rival of SEGA at the time. Also, since GBA was a handheld and Sony didn't have its own before the PSP, it was not necessarily perceived as a rival system for Sony.

I'm torn on Discord. I agree it's a lot more chaotic than forums, and it's hard to search for information. I just think it has a different purpose, more like a modern IRC. For instance, since my association created a Discord server, it's way easier to keep in touch with (most of) our members, and even to organize IRL stuff between us. Our forums were mostly dead, most people had moved to social networks anyway. My life would be also completely different without the Discord server I am with other AtariAge members, because it allows us to talk a lot more freely. That being said, I would not be totally against leaving the two other servers I'm in... I tend to ignore most of what is posted on them anyway, and when I browse them, I spend too much time doing it.

I don't see a lot of complaints about that, though. It's mostly funny, but sometimes it's a little pathetic when a guy tries to get in a fight with someone that hasn't posted here for 15 years, so it's natural to warn him he may not get any answer (to be fair, that must be the easiest way to win an Internet debate). 🙂

Well, the NeoGeo Pocket core doesn't have savestates (yet?) though. Also Kev confirmed he made that one as well.

I love both The House of the Dead and beat 'em ups but that game was still a letdown. Idk, something doesn't work for me, mostly because of the use of firearms I think. Since ammo is limited, you lose your powerful weapons quickly against the boss then keep attacking them very slowly with a regular gun. Very boring imho.

If they wanted to seriously compete with the other 3, they would probably release a console similar to the Xbox and PS anyway, with the exact same multi-platform games plus a few SEGA exclusives (and you wouldn't even have Total War or Football Manager since they're not released on consoles anyway). So frankly, what the point? Once again, a SEGA-branded Xbox or PlayStation might work better for both SEGA and Microsoft/Sony.

I was a SEGA fan but never was interested in Fighting Vipers. The chara design really puts me off. Last Bronx is way better.
