  1. I agree about Top Gear. One of the best racing games for the SNES, lotsa fun, fuel guages, the different cars and the countries, ahh the memories.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Chrono Trigger  :ponder:

Top Gear is a lot of fun. I rank it 3rd in terms of my favorite SNES racers (Mario Kart and Rock n Roll Racing being 1 and 2).

I really enjoy Tetris Attack but there's one problem with the game play that bothers me. When things get really hectic and the tiles are piling to the top of the screen, all you really need to do is start randomly moving the D-pad and jamming the button. I've saved my own skin (and racked up a decent amount of points) many times doing this when things started heating up but it just feels so wrong.

That's true, but it only works so often. More often than not, the player who's skilled with setting up combos and chains will win out.

  2. Tetris Attack

The best head to head "puzzle" game I've ever played. Lots of games let you send garbage blocks over on the other player, but few make those garbage blocks the key to turning the tables and getting sweet, sweet revenge. Nintendo not bringing its GameCue Puzzle Collection (including a 4-player version of this game) to the USA is a misdemeanor against humanity.

I agree. Tetris Attack (Panel de Pon) ranks as my favorite puzle game on any console. If anyone's got an N64, check out Pokemon Puzzle League. It's from the same series as Tetris Attack but with the Pokeomon license thrown in. It's also only 2-players though. :(

  3. I checked on this last night.  Unfortunately, it's either a regional thing or I just have the shittiest Target around.  The one near me still had it priced at $40.  (It isn't discounted on Target's website either.)

Hopefully, it will drop to $20 soon.  I've been waiting for a while on this one, but can't justify over $30 for it when I already have Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.

It's $19.99 at all Targets now (both Xbox and PS2 versions). If it's marked $40 at your Target, have the sales associate scan it, and it should come up $19.99. I've also seen the Xbox version at a couple of local Wal-Marts for $17.88. YMMV on that though, Wal-Mart's pricing is more regional.

  4. Battle Royale video game or perhaps a mod? I remember hearing something about this but don't remember the details...

I'm pretty sure there isn't a Battle Royale video game out (at least not an official game). The only thing I've read is only speculation.

It seems like the perfect movie for a game. If you haven't seen the movie yet, go watch it! The sequel is disappointing, but the first BR movie is one of my favorites.

  5. You guys might want to chech out your local Circuit City store for the Killzone demo. They're ringing up a penny each. My CC had a bunch of them a week or so ago. I thought the demo was pretty enjoyable. It's only about 5 minutes long, but I was surprised with how fun the game is. I was expecting it to be really bad based on some of the comments I've read on various messageboards.

  6. Oh yeah I've been wanting to play an arcade perfect Port of Mortal Kombat for ages. Defiantly worth $20 or even $30 to me :D

You'll have to shell out $60 now if you want the port of MK1. It's been pulled from Midway Arcades Treasures 2 and will be on the Mortal Kombat: Deception Kollector's Edition instead. Also, Steel Talons and STUN Runner are being replaced with Kozmik Kroozr’ and Wacko.

Here's the Midway Arcade Treasures 2 lineup now:

    A.P.B.

    Arch Rivals

    Championship Sprint

    Cyberball 2072

    Gauntlet 2

    Hard Drivin’

    Kozmik Kroozr’

    Mortal Kombat 3

    Mortal Kombat II

    NARC

    Pit Fighter

    Primal Rage

    Rampage World Tour

    Spy Hunter 2

    Timber

    Total Carnage

    Wizard of Wor

    Xenophobe

    Xybots

    Wacko

  7. IMHO, it's definately worth $10. I have it on Xbox and for PC. I dig the cel shaded graphics and the comic book style of the game. I recommend it more for the offline gameplay. It kind of plays like a bloodfest online, but it's still fun. I anyone's interested, the Xbox and PS2 versions are $9.99 new at ebgames.com. The PC version is $9.25 at overstock.com. And yes, I have too much free time on my hands to know all this.

  8. If you are looking for a cheap way to play import games and can make your saves to the internal memory then try the ST Key. Only $10 and works well.

I've dealt with National Console Support on many occasions and always found them courteous, quick to ship, and very fair on pricing.

    Mendon

Even though this might not apply to the Castlevania Saturn game specifically...if you're going to fork out money on a cart that lets you play imports, spend a little extra and go with the Action Replay Plus over the ST Key. It'll let you play the imports that require the 1MB/4MB RAM carts like X-Men vs SF, Vampire Savior, etc. It also doubles as a memory cart and GameShark.

  9. If you live near an EB, (Electronic's Boutique) they are giving away free Dreamcasts with a purchase of 3 Dreamcast games of $4.99 and more. I was skeptical at first, b/c I figured most games were 15-20 bucks still, but I left with a new DC and 5 games (Sega Bass Fishing, Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5, and Toy Commander) for 27 bucks. Pretty sweet! Check it out, peeps.

    Cousin Vinnie

They had the same deal for the N64. I think were both July deals though. I think the upcoming Aug promo is pre-played DC or N64 systems for $9.99 each (no game purchase required).

  10. Yup, it's a good game even with the Pokemon license. It's pretty short, but I had fun playing it a few years back.

I think a lot of people feel the same way about Pokemon Puzzle League (which is basically Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon). A lot of people overlooked it because of the Pokemon, but it's probably the best puzzle game I've ever played.

  11. I think the Xbox platinum hits packaging looks better than PS2 greatest hits packaging. Anyways, if anyone want to pick up the PH version of Max Payne cheap, check out your local target store. It's on clearance right now. I picked up a couple a couple of copies last week for $4.98 each. Like what was already metioned, Max Payne 2 (xbox version) is $12.99 used at Blockbuster.

  12. I haven't played all the wrestling games, so these are just my favorites from the ones I've actually played:

    Arcade - WWF Wrestfest

    Classic - Pro Wrestling (NES)

Modern - Fire Pro Wrestling Six Men Scramble (Saturn)

PS2/Xbox - WWE Smackdown Here Comes the Pain (PS2)

Edit: I didn't catch at first that you said classic besides Pro Wrestling on the NES. All the other wrestling games that I've played on the NES pretty much suck, so I'll have to go with Saturday Night Slam Masters on the SNES for classic.

  13. I've actually seen some auctions sell in the $300 range on ebay last year (used, if I remember correctly). I don't know if they were a fluke auctions though. It looks like this guy couldn't sell his copy for $229.

I've never seen a new one up for auction though. In terms of rarity, how does Bonk 3 CD compare with Beyond Shadowgate and Dynastic Hero?
