In the not-so-distant future, the United States has become a totalitarian regime overseen by the charming but sinister Mr. President, who, in order to satisfy the masses' need for entertainment (and to quench their thirst for violence), has created a new national sport -- the Death Race, a nationwide road rally in which the winner is not determined by who finishes first, but by who scores the most points along the way by killing hapless pedestrians. Aspiring champion Machine Gun Joe Viterbo is looking to take the top honors away from Frankenstein, a half-man/half-machine who has been built to be the best racer on Earth and can outrun and outkill anyone on the circuit. However, not everyone likes the Death Race, and revolutionary leader Thomasina Paine wants to sabotage the event in the name of restoring democracy. She has her Rebels try to destroy the racers. You are Machine Gun Joe, Can you win the race?? Can you even Survive?!?

The cart does look sharp. Needle does a good job on the labels. Not that I can do it, but what would be a good song to put into it??

River Raid is not an easy game to hack..

Here is the latest version. Play it and let me know of any problems. This is actually easier then the Original Berzerk, untill you add Evil Otto, then it is tough!!! Are the colors OK? I experimented with the color backgrounds and I really didn't like them. Very helpful. With your info I managed to figure it out in Hack-o-Matic. Took about 5 mins. to change it. Now I can make that Tank (Combat) version of Berzerk. Looks like Berzerk will be the new Hack Workhorse replacing Space Invaders...

The only problem is that the stand still animation is also part of the walking animation. If you don't do it right it looks pretty freaky. How many pixels did you need to move the shot down??
