    Ok this will be the new thread for my hacks as the last one is getting clogged

    up and theres too many bogus leftovers from a previous help conversation

    so Alex or Albert you can safely delete the old thread now :)

    I think you should just post the BIN file. Most people won't download a patch.

    Just dropping a line to say that I am still working on adding an end screen.  I am optimizing code to free up bytes.  I have just over 60 bytes freed so far.    Expect to see a playable image sometime next week.  

     

    I don't know if this is really a contest anymore.  Is anyone else working on this?   Maybe this thread should move to the Hacks forum?

    After scoring 5700+ points, I lost my next to last cannon. When the last cannon came up on screen, the sound cut off and the cannon would not fire. The Invaders still moved and I could move the cannon left and right.

     

    Has anyone else had the same problem?

     

    Are you sure the game wasn't over? This hack won't shift into attract mode colors...so it's hard to tell (of course, the next time you get hit, the player base will just be flashing).

     

    That reminds me...I need to get the bonus player in there too ;)

    You can ignore my previous post. I forgot that the Cannon was controllable without starting a new game. So my game was over. :thumbsup:

    Recieved the game today. Looks good.....from the outside. Oh no!!! It's shrink-wrapped. I usually don't open a shrink-wrapped game unless I have 2.

    Star Pilot: Legend of Galga

     

    Take out the Alien Queen Galga and destroy her Brood before they swarm over the Universe.

     

    The Alien Queen Galga will continue to replace destroyed eggs untill you take her out.

    You have to understand the way BBS's worked. When I started I was running a C=64 with several 1571 drives(3-4) linked together. I had 1 phone line dedicated to the BBS and the number changed about every other month. I also had a Public Domain fake front on my BBS. You would only get to the Pirate section if you were using a pre-approved password, it was'nt open to just anybody. It was really rare for a software company to catch onto someone. Most of the people I knew that were busted were caught by phone companies. Over 90% of the software originated in Europe and the phone codes were used to avoid paying Long Distance charges. Do you know how long it would take to download a program at 1200baud??

    Not the Biggest, there were a dozen or so people that I knew that were way over me. My BBS had what was called 0-1 Day Warez, meaning that I only posted the newest games, after they were out for a few days they were replaced. Towards the end, I even had people at various software companies that would give me pre-copy protected games that were weeks from being released. I think it's safe to talk about it now, the limitations ran out long ago. I was young and stupid and the format used made it very simple to do. When you are confronted at home by local and Federal Officers with a $17,000 phone bill you kind of decide that maybe it's not something that you want to continue doing. I had all my computer equipment confiscated, (including the desk and chair??). I did eventually get back most of my equipment but all of the software was destroyed.

     

    So if you ever come home from School and there are several law enforcement cars in front of your house........... :)

     

    An interesting piece of information, A lot of modern programmers on Gamecube, X-Box and PS2 started as C=64 Pirates/Coders.

    I have already been contacted by "The powers that be".

     

    I have been working for them for 18 years after being busted on Phone Hacking Charges. I did contract security work for about 1 - 2 years for a long-distance company(the same one that busted me/no formal charges :) ) before hiring on as a full-time Bell employee in 1988.

     

    The funny thing is, I only remember one other C=64 Pirate Board, which was Shake The Disease (located in NJ I think).

    Back during the Commodore 64 days I was one of the biggest pirates on the East Coast. (Captain Zap/BBS Forbidden Planet). When I look back at that, Yes, that was un-ethical. I was stealing brand new copy-righted content and distibuting it for financial gain.

    It would be neat to tell some experiances of this, wouldn't it? :D

    Space is'nt the only thing they invade! I'll never be able to play Ms Pac-Man again. :?
