  1. The parallax effect occurs only on a few lines, I suspect that only those few lines are asked and the rest is probably displayed "normally" without being masked. Not having this parallax effect would absolutely not double the framerate. And parallax or not, this kind of game needs a moving background to give the player a decent immersion.
  2. The closest thing would be AGT but it still requires ST programming: https://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=31558
  3. Memory might be an issue on a stock ST since the game had a lot of samples, you might need 1MB. I just checked out of curiosity, the sample files for the arcade game seem to take around 680kb for all the words and numbers.
  4. Brume is currently looking into it
  5. That would be excellent! Feel free to make a poll here, the group is very active: https://www.facebook.com/groups/133161394213 Would it be a dual boot disk?
  6. It's really vague. Was is a 2D game? 3D? top down view?
  7. TPR: manual based protections were present for a really small percentage of games on the ST, so you should be good. In my ST collection things like code wheels, booklets needing a red filter or color grids with numbers represent something like less than 5% of the games. Games using those were usually adventure games.
  8. Even the tunnel sections indeed. They are animated bitmaps that are larger than the size of the screen. You can see that the vanishing point is scrolling as well. If it was really 3D, it would remain at the center of the screen. It's a nice visual trick, it just takes a lot of memory.
  9. Stardust has no 3D though, it's all sprites and animated bitmaps, no polyfill
  10. I sent a message to one of them
  11. Bubble Bobble was fantastic as well on the ST, I even bought it back then, no pirate version for this one
  12. You're free to dislike it and the C64 version was very good indeed (although less faithful to the Arcade version than the ST version IMHO), but I would definitely not call it "100% crap coding". It's just false and disrespectful. I remember Buggy Boy had pretty good reviews when it was released on the ST:
  13. RVF Honda was pretty good indeed, I remember playing it regularly at some point. Buggy Boy was good as well
  14. Roadrunner and Metrocross were both great arcade conversions. Metrocross was really smooth, running at 50 fps.
  15. Defender Of The Crown: Gods: Magic Pockets: Cadaver: Ivanhoe: Ocean Beach Volley: Fire and Brimstone: Maupiti Island:
  16. Finally got a boxed version of Neochrome, still sealed, along with a few more additions to the collection
  17. Perfect example of useless and toxic flame bait that nobody is interested in when coming here to read about Atari stuff. Hopefully this will get moderated.
  18. Actually, Legend was released for the Amiga. In 1992 commercial exclusives on the ST were becoming extremely rare, they were mostly public domain stuff or games made by demomakers. At that time, releasing a game on the ST only was getting non viable commercially speaking.
  19. Ideally, post a few photos (I'm in Canada too)
  20. Lin Wu's Challenge, released in 1990 in a wooden box. It took me some time to find this one.
