So basically physical media is just a ruse at this point. You buy a disc or cartridge with half a game on it, and then download the other half to your HDD along with updates. So either way you are buying digital with a finite shelf life.

  When PS4 came out, I played a couple of games on it. It was OK, but not groundbreaking enough to try and buy one. I went over a year without even turning on my PS3. Right now I'm just using it to play downloaded movies and shows. I don't see myself ever buying a newer system. I'm fine with just wearing out my 2600!
