I've Always called it the Best Looking,  Worst Playing game.  I'm intrigued by some other versions of it where they made an actual video game of it.

If you can rescue Daphne, it turns into a very deep and compelling life simulation in which you manage your relationships and sire offspring as they work to cultivate land, raise and harvest crops, and engage in the kingdom's agrarian economy. If you're successful, it continues for some 50 generations until you arrive at the dawn of the industrial revolution. Naturally, arcade operators weren't too keen on players reaching this very time-consuming endgame, so the difficulty of the action-based introductory segments was ratcheted up considerably. It seems timing issues and/or directions vary from platform to platform.
