  1. Wow what a monumental letdown. My new $150 Retrotink 2x Pro has MUCH worse video quality (through S-Video) than my $30 Blackweb S-Video/Composite to HDMI converter from Walmart. Maybe component is it's strong suit but my faith in this device is shattered at this point.

      Same HDMI cable, looks perfect with the other upscaler.  I'll try another generic USB power brick though, thanks for the idea.  I wish they included one instead of just the cable to help prevent such occurrences.

      Mike Chi claims the tolerances are fine for using just about any power brick. But I think the idea really was to use an available USB port on the TV so that the Tink comes on with the TV as opposed to using a brick at all.
