    Consumer electronics is in a sorry state...all these formerly great companies (Bose, Nak, etc) now basically made headphones, soundbars and BT speakers.  Like we need more of those!

      Mostly agree...
      We already got calls to our Help Desk about "the network having problems" because people couldn't get to Facebook... ;-)
      Not a huge fan of Socials in general, tho I do use it for support for things like my 3D Printer and some retro stuff...

    My Alienware M15 R6 won't turn on...lights up, then goes dead after 3-4 seconds.  Might have to add Alienware to my list, along with HP, of brands to never buy again.  lol

      Alienware support has been great for me.  Been using their laptops the last 10+ years.  Had same day callout twice and hardware fixed in under 4 hours.

      As with all things, stuff go wrong, but they seem to care about making it right.

      It's the same people as dell support. Very nice support system. Shipping's a little iffy, but the support when you have the machine is next level.

    Sony claims PS5 is entering the "latter half of it's life cycle" What?  Haven't even bought one yet for lack of compelling games.  This generation is probably the weakest yet, same goes for X/S.

      If it's approaching the latter half, seems that would imply a total life cycle of 7-8 years (and would likely still be supported beyond that even if the successor is out) so that doesn't sound too awful to me.

    Just watched Blue Thunder (1982). I'm really enjoying discovering old movies I've never seen before, and this was a fun one.

      There was a TV series of that one too.  I remember it came on at a weird time like Sunday @ 5 PM or something...I only watched a tiny bit once.  Unless I am misremembering, the sun was up in the sky and it seemed so early for an action show to be on...

       

      Also in school,  we got our computer teacher (This little old lady) a hat that said JAFO.  She would tell people it meant Just Another Friendly Observer.

      I don't think you have to treat everything politically...Especially not here,  where we're largely discussing old video games, consoles, and computers;  plus programming,  and new games for old systems, repairs,  A/V Mods etc. (And Other topics too of course)...Saying something a bunch of people happen to agree with or being really funny can get you a lot of likes.  Strangely I've noticed that whenever I think I've nailed it,  and been clever, smart, concise and interesting,  speaking from the heart etc.;  Those are my posts that get no Likes whatsoever!

    I found White Men Can't Jump on DVD at Goodwill today.  A movie based on the hugely popular Atari Jaguar game of the same name.

    I started playing "Costume Quest" with my kiddos last night and they loved it.  It's a charming Halloween themed RPG that's perfect for the family but enjoyable all around if like me you don't have 472 hours to sink in Elden Ring or Zelda.

      I 100%-ed the game on XBox- fantastic little RPG.  Costume Quest 2 is really good, but I think the first one is better. :)
