  1. Thank you! Not only was this a very entertaining read to get a sense of the 3DO - Jaguar rivalry from the early adopters in that 1994 thread, but it satisfies the ultimate question many people have, about whether Crash n Burn was rendering polygons or was a pre-rendered FMV like Megarace. I've always been in the "rendering polygons" camp because you can shift the camera slightly and see different angles of the scenery, but that's not sufficient proof for some folks. Needless to say, this game probably has one of the furthest draw distances outside of the dreamcast/PS2/Xbox generation, pretty epic for the time (1993).
  2. You could just kinda cram some kind of pc into a jag case. Play skyrim with the pro controller and have the ultimate what if Atari had been successful simulated experience.
  3. Well now you can! http://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/jaguar2usb_adapter/index.php Some other cool adapters on this page - 3DO to USB adapter, SNES to playstation adapter, etc. Vextrex controller to USB... interesting combinations
  4. Awesome, thanks for sharing. Love the narrator.
  5. Was this for you to hook the lynx to your belt and wear it as a belt buckle? The lynx is way too big for that! What's the deal! Btw speaking of Atari belt buckles...
  6. Could you get a comparable part from a Walkman or other clam shell cd device? A different alternative would be to replace the spindle with a ps1 spindle and remove the top weighted part. I did that wroth a sega cd that had a very similar assembly as the jag cd with a weighted piece attached to the underside of the clam shell
  7. Some interesting clips of (English?) coverage of the Jaguar and English game reviews from back in the day. Hadn't seen any of that before. I skipped around as well but this was nicely put together.
  8. I saw it at the bookstore yesterday and leafed through it, there is a lot of focus on the 2600 era and art for that system and cartridges, all of which is pretty cool imo. didn't see anything about the lynx though and didn't see an entry for it in the index.
  9. The costumes are cooler in mortal kombat. These guys look like they are outta shaq fu
  10. Didn't have any luck running this on an emulator and I have no skunk board. Anyone want to post a few screenshots or a short video?
  11. I keep reading the title to this thread in the where did you learn to fly voice. Am I The only one?
  12. That's an interesting idea playing Cybermorph to music seeing as how it doesn't have much of a soundtrack itself. Any songs on the Def Lepard CD fit with the Cybermorph atmosphere?
  13. Someone on this forum posted a picture of such a Lynx 1 without the paint as it had been put up on ebay and the question was whether it was a custom paint job or a rare official color. Well, it was the primer under the paint, which was actually a bit of a light blue/violet color. It was interesting to see. I just tried searching for the picture but couldn't find it.
  14. I agree with level42, I've used my lynx 1 for at least 20 hours directly in my hands and there's no sign of stuff coming off. I do have a friend who has very sweaty hands though, and the sweat strips the finish off of the guitars that he plays. I would imagine if you have hand sweat like him, then it could be something to worry about, but if not, as an adult, the lynx probably isn't going to get beaten up by moderate normal use. I suppose you could dismantle the system and spray a clear coat on the case though, that would be another layer to protect the paint. More easily, you could just get a pair of thin cloth gloves such as those worn by people who play handbells (skin oil causes the bells to oxydize/rust, so people wear thin gloves when playing them to protect the bells). They could be your lynx gloves you could also get a second beaten up lynx and use that as your daily driver, while the mint one looks good on the shelf - added bonus is that then you can periodically pull out the mint one and play 2 player lynx with a friend.
  15. It has its own character and lots of exclusive games. If you enjoyed games in the arcade and on pcs circa 1988 to 1993 the lynx will feel quite familiar and nostalgic but different enough to own in its own right. It's a completely different feel in terms of the game library than the gba.
  16. You need to stop playing it like r type and start intentionally smashing the waves of small enemies from the top and from right to left with the dragons body ☺
  17. Wow I didn't even know Dragon Breed was released on the ST. That is a pretty neat game in the arcade and the graphics and gameplay of the port look very comparable. Looking forward to seeing what comes of it!
  18. Too bad badlands isn't greater than 2p, even in the arcade, despite being based on super sprint.
  19. Which sonic game is this? One of the gamegear sonics?
  20. I think Fat Bobby wins for attitude, because you are a rock star. Also the sprites have quite good animation for the lynx.
  21. Apparently this panel is contained in this comic. Anyone own it to find out why the Jag makes an appearance? https://www.amazon.com/Livingstone-3-Tomohiro-Maekawa/dp/163236266X/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1474746300&sr=8-1&keywords=livingstone+3&linkCode=ll1&tag=atariage&linkId=ced455553dd88fb9a64f686ea079edf6
  22. Have my jag packed up in a box right now since I recently moved, but here was my setup at my old place for awhile.
  23. I was thinking it's worth about 64 bits.
  24. Someone needs to wear this with the jag hat and tote bag while playing jaguar on a jag kiosk in front of ataris old office building in ca. That would be the ultimate.
