Depends on how you slice it. If you don't count protos, demos, diagnostics, variants, or aftermarket releases, I believe I have full US sets (loose) for: 7800, Channel F, Microvision, N64, Odyssey2, 32X, Dreamcast, Gamegear, Pico, Master System, and game.com. And 90%+ of US games for 2600,5200,Jaguar,Lynx,Colecovision,Arcadia,Vectrex,Intellivision,NES,SNES,Virtual Boy,Studio II,Sega CD, Genesis, Saturn, and TG16. If you only count catridges, I'm also at 90%+ for the C64, VIC20, +/4, CoCo, Aquarius, Tomy Tutor, and TI99 computers.

Anybody here a member of the Vancouver WA Commodore Club?

I think the vancouver and portland clubs are one and the same. http://www.commodorecomputerclub.com/ -
My CoCo is a NoCo - no color. Any ideas on how to fix it? This model only has r/f output.

I'll look into the SIO2PC solution and hold the mailing a disk option in reserve. Are there other options, some sort of SD card device that's a better long term investment?
-
Thanks for that reply. Circumstances will prevent me from trying this for a week or two, but I will get to it. Your method will yield a file on a 1050 disk. How do I get that over to my PC? I don't have an SIO2PC or anything similar, or any way to upload directly from my 800. Seems like one of those basic operations I should know how to do, but I've never had the need.

Computer War's label identifies it as a 'sample', so I'm thinking it was an early copy sent out to a reviewer or perhaps to a store for demonstration purposes, but probably not a prototype. There's only one hand-wired cart - I just took multiple pictures to document its construction. Thanks for your input.
-
I make no claim of it being a prototype - just something odd. Most likely it came into my possession when I bought out someone's collection. I did a lot of that back in the '90s. As to value - who cares? I'm not looking to sell it. All I wanted was information. My original question was to find out if there was any particular collectibility to different versions of otherwise common cartridges.

Logic chip is DM54LS138J/883B and the line above is 8006. Hitachi eproms are H462716G How would I go about dumping the cart? Assume I know nothing about the topic when providing instructions. Due to the fragility of the cart, I'd be hesitant to mail it.

One and only bump of this topic before I let it die quietly.

I've got a few SF354 drives in which the disk locking pin repeatedly gets stuck. This is the pin that, once a disk is inserted, slides into the small hole in the bottom of the disk. The pin gets stuck in the locked position, preventing disk insertion. I can free it by exercising the eject mechanism a few times, but the problem recurs after just a few disk eject cycles. Any suggestions for a permanent fix?

They all boot in my 800, though the assembler cart needs delicate handling to get it to work. It just comes up with a blue screen that says 'EDIT' which I think is normal for the regular editor/assembler cart.

I've been sorting thru my collection of 800/XL/XE carts and noticed that several titles came with different labels, case colors, or case styles. I was wondering if any of these variants are particularly collectible (similar to how the 2600 Silver label Gravitar is much more desirable than the red one). As I went thru the boxes, I found 3 rather unusual labels shown in the pictures. The American Techna-Vision Donkey Kong seems to have been made by an Atari parts supplier, and I can guess that the Computer War is some sort of demo cart, but the third one stumps me - some sort of home made editor/assembler cart? Any info is welcome (and no, these aren't for sale).

There's an 1100 on my local craigslist for $35. It's an hour away plus a $7 toll, but maybe you can sweet talk him into shipping. http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/sys/3623925880.html

Anybody else a 'Collector' of the TI-99 4/A?

Same company that released Mogul Maniac and the Joyboard controller for the 2600, then developed the famous Amiga computer. I like those little sticks much better than the stock TI ones. -
Anyone collect Atari 2600 label variations?
krslam replied to riffraff's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I'm always on the lookout for variants. Whacchagot? -
Unpopular console + small library = cheap collection. Rzone, Action Max, Pico, Studio 2, game.com, and Micovision should all be doable for under $200. Channel F, Arcadia, and VIS for not much more.

Which rarity guide are you looking at?

Very solid start. The Mattel version of Skiing is US Ski Team Skiing.

And proud of it, at 55. Maturity is over rated.

Most of my 5200 collection, not including duplicates. I've got a stack (8 to 10) of spare consoles, mostly 4-ports, but not enough working bits to make them all functional. Cart-wise, I'm missing BSBB, all the homebrew & aftermarket releases, some label variants, and many boxes and manuals. The hunt goes on.

Nice looking setup, arcadeshopper. I'll have to take some pix of my 99 stuff one of these days. -
D2K ARCADE ROM on sale during high-scoring competition

I just received my budget release. Looks great. Question on the sticker: is it a peel & stick or does it need glue (and if so, what glue do you recommend)? -

I enjoyed THE HOME COMPUTER WARS by Michael S. Tomczyk. You can find a PDF of it thru Google.
