No, it's the Commodore (C=) key.

eBay was just one factor. Others include: Alternate selling venues such as craigslist. Natural burn down of the "found this in the attic" backlog Publishers threatening legal action against those selling used software (most thrifts in my area have little to no computer software, since they're unwilling to risk a lawsuit). Mandatory eWaste disposal fees ($10 per unit in this state). Much of what gets donated is unsellable, and the thrifts found themselves facing huge disposal costs so stopped accepting any kind of computer donation (except printers, scanners, and keyboards, which were exempt from the fee). This fee has been largely rescinded, but most stores aren't willing to risk getting burned again so still won't accept computer donations.

And, oddly enough, the difficulty switch turns the music on and off in Moon Patrol.

What is the best joystick? I love 500XJ EPYX red joystick!

Here's most of my 3rd-party sticks. I like the 500XJ best. -
Bought some Tomy Tutor games from lucifershalo, and it was a thoroughly pleasant experience. Thanks!

It's not clear which titles you have doubles of. I could use some of those Jap games. -
There's been a reduction in the number of almost all heavy, expensive to ship items since evilbay started including shipping cost in the final value fee computation. And most that do get listed have horrible BINs as sellers roll the worst-case-scenario shipping costs + fees into the purchase price. Only about 7% of listings are true auctions now (was 15-20% before the fee change).

The videopac games are the euro equivalents of Odyssey2 games. There were 15-20 videopac releases that weren't duplicated in the US but you don't have any of those. An interesting curiosity for the variant collector.

Late to the party here, but I find it strange that you chose the same name as a defunct publication from the early '90s.

Quick & easy transaction with topdog (my first on AtariAge). Thanks for being gentle with me.

Interest check: bunches of Atari 8-bit mags in Seattle

Enforcement is definitely inconsistent but I got a message once from someone in the postmaster general's office verifying that magazines are a no-no in media mail. Still didn't stop the ebay buyer from leaving me bad feedback over "excessive" shipping charges. It's for this very reason, plus ebay's new tax on shipping, that I won't sell magazines there anymore. C'mon Seattle Atari fans - where else you gonna find 150+ magazines devoted to your favorite computers??? -

It's because of the advertising. Media mail can't contain advertising and they don't seem to care that the ads are all for stuff you can no longer buy from companies that no longer exist. I've actually had a couple sets of mags that I tried sending that way opened and returned to me. -

*updated* Haven't had any luck finding a local buyer for the lot, so I'm entertaining offers for individual issues. A few have already gone and have been removed from the list. *updated* I recently bought out a local collector and ended up with two big boxes full of (mostly) Atari 8-bit mags including a couple first issues. They were unfortunately stored in a garage for years and some of them drew damp, resulting in covers stuck together and some staining. A few have worn, missing, or torn covers, etc. None are what I would call collector-quality though many of them are not too bad. I couldn't find any info on values, so I'm open to offers. My post office doesn't allow magazines, even old ones, to ship media mail so I'm hoping someone from the Seattle area will go for the whole lot. Analog: 40 issues total, earliest is #8, rest are from #19-#78 Antic: 78 total (including a half dozen or so dupes) ranging from Vol 1 #5 thru v9#2 Hi-Res: 2 total: Issues #1 & #3 Atari Explorer: 16 total, from Feb 85 thru Jan 93 Atari Interface: 3 total (including 1 duplicate) from v4 (1992) Current Notes: 1 total (v12#6) Puget Sound Atari Newsletter (a local magazine/thick newsletter): 43 issues total Compute!: 1 total (June 1981) also 2 old catalogs: Best Electronics #9 (1992), American Techna-Vision (undated) -
I'll take it! We're practically neighbors (I'm in Tukwila) so just need to set up a good time/place to meet.

The 2 games seem to be full versions, but I haven't played them thru. Word Flyer keeps looping back to the splash screen, don't know if the disk is defective or if this NFR version isn't complete.
-
Got these mixed in with a large lot of Atari computer stuff. Just the disks, no manuals/packaging. I was unaware that NFR software existed in the 8-bit era (excluding store demos and the like). I'm just looking for more info on them, not trolling for offers to sell.

Not even sure what this Hyper drive cart does. Some sort of battery-backed RAMdisk?

Imagic 2600 multicart kiosk $150 Silverdale, WA - pickup only
krslam replied to djpubba's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Partial success, anyways. The unit has a bayonet-style fuse holder which apparently isn't used anymore, but I found an old electronic thingie at a thrift that had the right type of holder so was able to transfer that to the previewer and it seems to power up OK, but my 2600 is in storage so functionality is untested. There seems to be a weird button anomaly. If you're unfamiliar with this, there are 24 slots (11-18,21-28, and 31-38) and you use 2 buttons to select which slot to play, the A button for the 1st digit and the B button for the second. The unit always turns on to slot 37, and I can use the B button to cycle thru the the second digits, but the A button only works once. That is, if I press it, it switches me to the 11-18 bank, but that's it. I can't move on to the 2nd bank or return to the 3rd, through the B button is still functional. Turn it off and it goes back to 37. Weird, since the A button is obviously functional. As yet, the C button is untested until I get my 2600 back into play. -

As promised, here's a picture of the unit just as received. The games are nothing special, and so far I haven't been able to test it since the fuse & fuse holder are missing. I have successfully peeled off the the radio station sticker. -

Yeah, I was updating my post I was thrown off by the ultra low post count As mentioned, I'm not a regular here, hence the low number of posts. Actually I do understand your skepticism since CL is full of flakes, but pix will just have to wait. I wish the wife was knowledgable enough to find this stuff on her own, but in this case I spotted the ad, called her from work, and sent her on her way. Didn't take any special knowledge on my part either, as I just searched for Atari and the ad popped up. If he had just listed it as 'Imagic Kiosk' and not mentioned Atari, I would have missed it entirely. The timing part was just dumb luck, too. Somebody had to be first and my early-rising ways gave me the edge this time.
