So I saw this completed item on ebay: https://m.ebay.com/itm/LOT-OF-5-Tandy-Memorex-Radio-Shack-VIS-Video-Information-System-/372253087950?nav=SEARCH#vi__app-cvip-panel Five SAVE-IT cards for the Memorex VIS, which, I assume, are for saving game progress. The VIS predates the ps1 and contemporaries by a few years, so does this make it the 1st system (not counting computers) to use removable save memory cards?

Label variant fight: Which one is your preferred label variant and why?
krslam replied to redsteakraw's topic in Atari 2600
I prefer the picture labels, for both Atari & Imagic. Never cared for any of the Activision styles though I suppose the ones with screenshots represented a sort of truth-in-advertising. -
Picked up almost a full set of these over the weekend, missing only Spectaculator and the mysterious Learning Lab.

Gamevaluenow says ~$33k for a complete loose set, minus ~$15k for the reproductions, then add some back in for the extra variants and boxed games, and you come up with a number a little short of the 25k asking price. So, not really a bargain but not a bad deal either. You'd still need to spend a BIG chunk of money to replace the repros if you really want a complete set. Guess I'll pass.

TI-99/4A Fest West 2018 - Saturday April 28th - Vancouver WA area
krslam replied to jedimatt42's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Semi-crazy idea for future versions of this event: how about holding it on the Sunday immediately after the annual Cowlitz gamers show in Kelso (which for reference is March 31st this year)? This would give travellers a kind of 2-for-1 benefit, and might increase attendance at Fest West by, perhaps, having some flyers at the Kelso show to hand out. Just a thought that flitted thru my head while thinking about making that 2.5 hour drive twice just a few weeks apart. -
Nurtz! Found another box with 8 broken systems in the garage. Puts me well over 20 so my original vote was wrong.
-
I'm down to about 15 or 20 having just sold off another dozen or so broken units. Slowly recovering my sanity, and my rec room.

Didn't know about the battery thing - I'll look into that. I've got the PX-8, too. That one does work.

Did you know? The 240p FZ-1 Variant
krslam replied to kgenthe's topic in 3DO Interactive Multiplayer
Wouldn't 240p just be 480i with half the frames skipped (Or just output as blank)? Less flicker but only half the resolution? -
I have one that I picked up at some thrift/estate/yard sale at some point, but it's never worked and I keep it around just because it looks cool. Mine has an expansion box called RealVoice and there's a sticker on the back that warns about properly attaching the unit to a wheelchair so it must have served a disabled person at some point. Beyonds that, not much I can tell you.

Emerson Arcadia 2001 US Rarity order
krslam replied to Blazing Lazers's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Last title I got was Grand Slam Tennis, probably 7 or 8 years ago. That's one of the ones I settled for an Import version (Schmid in this case), and I think it was the only one I had to go to eBay for. The others were all found in the wild between 1995 and 2005, including all the imports (mostly in Canada). I was trying to get all the titles, if not all the versions, and ended up with 33 different games. Photos, if interested, are included in the last image of post #6 of my entry in the show-us-your-collection forum. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/212189-krslams-collection-if-i-had-38-make-that-46-bookcases/ -
Emerson Arcadia 2001 US Rarity order
krslam replied to Blazing Lazers's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I'm generally in agreement with your ratings. I finished my Arcadia set years ago, but many of the hard-to-find titles I have either incomplete or as imports. My only disagreement would be Star Chess, which I've come across multiple times, and which happens to be the only shrinkwrapped title I ever found, so I don't think it's that rare. Still looking for Funky Fish and Pleiades, too. -
Could you be more specific about what you're looking for? I might be able to help you out but don't want to list every little thing I have.

That's all kinds of awesome! Love the Space Invaders carpet.

Bookcase 46 filled! New finds plus the previously shown shelf-at-a-time images combined into one. Not much new on the hardware front, although this Sinclair clone from Spain was an odd thing to find. -

Which is more memorable & nostalgic? Hardware or Software?
krslam replied to Keatah's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
And there's an emulator for the Commodore 65, an unreleased system with zero software. -
