  1. I'm not sure if I'm posting this is the right place. If I'm not feel free to let me know where I should and this post can be deleted.

I'm looking for some overlays. Figured I'd hit up the community here before I went digging around eBay.

Not looking to spend a ton, just figured some of y'all might have some spares laying around you'd be willing to part with.

These are ones I'm looking for:

    Atlantis

    Beamrider

    Burgertime

    US Skiing

    Dracula

    Fathom

    Ice Trek

    Lock N Chase

    Masters Of Universe

    Microsurgeon (both overlays)

    NFL Football

    River Raid

    Safecracker

    Swords & Serpents (both overlays)

    Tron (all three games)

    Whitewater

Aside from Microsurgeon and Swords & Serpents I'm fine with just buying one overlay, don't need a set.

Anyway, if you might be able to help me out lemme know and we can work out deal.

    Thanks......

  2. It is not small enough to take with you on the road?

I travel a lot, too, so I know all about not wanting to carry extra weight around if you don't need to...

Oh no it's def small enough to bring and I actually did. But the TV at my hotel is 1080i and the Flashback is set to 1080p. Todd said it could be changed but i didn't wanna go thru the hassle when I know at home my TV was 1080p so as difficult as it was to have to wait I did and plugged it in at home when we had a break and all was A-OK.

  3. I got mine earlier this summer. Since I was away working on the road I hadn't had a chance to take it for a test spin until about 2 weeks ago. Plugged it in and am just floored how awesome it is to have this. Finally able to play Diner after all these years of just watching videos.... Playing Deadly Discs again and instantly reminded how cool that simple game is.... Back on the road again but can't wait for next visit home to spend a bit more time with it. Highly recommend this if you don't have the skill or time to make your own. Worth every penny.

  4. I still have my boxed Galaxy II from Epoch from back in the day!!

It was definitely an '80's style arcade shooter and it was cool how they gave it different levels...

Neat to hear someone else remembers that....I even remember (somewhat vaguely) that there was a TV commercial for them BITD.

That's cool you still have yours. I had mine for a long time but it stopped working.

You're right though the added levels were cool and a nice touch. I Remember having to land the capsule onto your ship at one point.

It was the best electronic game I ever played.

I think a few years ago I randomly looked on eBay for one. If I remember correct the prices were kind of high.

I sold my Donkey Kong to a friend for like nothing. Then I sold my tabletop Popeye for a ton of money in eBay. Made me wish I hadn't sold my Donkey Kong.

  5. I was an intellivision kid back in early 80s. But when the Coleco Gemini came out it was pretty cheap and I decided to ask for one for Christmas. I guess this 1983? Anyway I was so sure I'd get one I bought Reactor before I even had the system. Luckily I got Gemini so it was all good. Funny thing is I don't really think I played Reactor all that much.

  6. I'd go with Megaforce. Probably my favorite game that's based on a movie. Unlike alot of other movie games on the VCS, the gameplay is somewhat representative of the movie instead of a pac man or frogger type game.

That was an awesome game. I'd never seen the movie (still haven't) but I picked it up back then during one of those trips to Kay Bee in the mall and their giant tub of Atari games all marked down to like $5. Got my money's worth on that one.

  7. I had Donkey Kong back when these came out. It was ok. The best electronic table top I ever had or played was Galaxy II by Epoch.

I recently visited the National Video Game Museum outside Dallas and played the Coleco Ms Pac Man and a few other random handhelds and table tops.

It was fun for the nostalgic factor but I couldn't see playing these much.

I still have my Mattel Battlstar Galactica. Still works. Rarely play it though.

  8. I remember one of my friends had this back in 1982-83. It was pretty fun console. I mainly remember playing Galaxian on it. I always thought the controllers were kinda cool. Funny thing I remember bring at his house when he received the basic cart in the mail. I guess when they bought it you got it free but had to send away for it. I just remember us messing with it a little and having to hold down buttons to type different letters assigned to same button, etc. Fun memories.

  9. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/222423-imagics-beezer-box-art-discovered/

I am honored to have unknowingly played a small part in the beezer box art!

These boxes look great as usual. Ill be getting a set. :-D

Was this Beezer a real game? I've never heard of it but I find it so odd.... What's with all the bee interest in Intv games? Buzz Bombers, Spina, and now Beezer. Bees never seemed like such an attractive thing to base a game around. But having said that I do love me some Buzz Bombers. Had it back in the day and was the game I played most when I got a Flashback.

  10. It's funny having never played this game but certainly being aware of it and seeing the screen image I always thought the woman character sitting in the center (or I guess head of the table) was a dude. It always looked like two women and a dude you were playing. A dude with a big ol' wide 70s shirt collar. Also the discussion on what the one lady was wearing was amusing. I mean Will got it right it's obviously fishnets.

I got an answer from Kimo Yap, but it doesn't really answer your question completely: Kimo wrote:

"The jungle theme... I actually don't remember. I'd guess it was a collaborative thing; or something that was decided before I started either by dbr (Rolfe) and/or Glenn and Mattel/Electric Company. In terms of Rolfe/Glenn it may have been partly chosen due by which what kind of animals were doable/available in the limited graphics of the time. Can't remember if there was a story board presented. Sorry I couldn't be of more help on this. There might be some old paper around somewhere on the project, although I doubt the answer to that would be in it, even if I could find it; it would be more technical stuff. If I find any of that stuff, though I'll let you know. Not sure what the legal status of it would be, though."

    Thanks Paul.

  12. yeah I just always thought when you compare it to the design of Play Cable which matches right up flush with the Intellivision and essentially just looks like you've extended your Intellivision that the Intellivoice should've been made similarly. Just like how the US gray ECS and System Changer "extends" the Intellivision II.

  13. Has anyone ever read anywhere why they designed the Intellivoice the way they did? Like why didn't they go with something more like the Play Cable unit where it set flush with the Intellivision? I've always been curious cause the Intellivoice seemed so awkward the way it looked attached to the Intellivision. I searched around a little for the answer to no luck. Thought maybe some of you who know far more about the system then me might know.

  14. Not really a game but I used it as much as any game: Dazzle Draw

    Games:

    Gremlins

    Hard Hat Mack

    Arcade Boot Camp

Loderunner (creating your own screens was the shit)

    Sammy Lightfoot

Conan Hall of Volta (always wished they made a sequel)

    Bruce Lee

Montezuma's Revenge had to hook up to a TV to play so I could see the different color keys)

    Cannonball Blitz

    Stellar 7

    Spare Change

    Mario Bros.

so many. I had the CH Products Mach II joystick. I also got a mouse probably for Christmas 1985 when I got Dazzle Draw. Had no idea what it was. The person selling Dazzle Draw to my mom probably talked her into buying it.

  15. i loved my Apple IIc. We got it in Fall 1984. I used it until around 1998 when it started having some power issues. I wish I had kept it. I used to spend hours using Dazzle Draw. Just went on a binge looking at videos on YT of old games I used to play. Sammy Lightfoot, Conan Hall of Volta, Montezuma's Revenge, Apple Cider Spider, Hard Hat Mack, Arcade Boot Camp, Loderunner, Gremlins…. the list goes on.
