  1. So Bill have you heard any plans about the other overlays being sold separately, maybe as a set, for those who'd like to buy them? I seem to remember someone a few posts earlier who got his hands on a Flashback say it said in the manual to go to intellivision.com to order more.
  2. someone earlier who got their hands on a flashback mentioned it was in the manual.
  3. any news on possibility of being able to special order a complete set of overlays for the flashback? What's with the intellivision.com address someone said was in the manual offering the opp to purchase more overlays? right now there's no such site.
  4. "Unlike the original Donkey Kong"? are you just referring to the Coleco Intellivision version? You can't be talking about Donkey Kong as a game in general not being a good game.
  5. cool thanks dude. be cool to see this get finished and released some day….
  6. any word on that Donkey Kong Jr update they were working on?
  7. I had that Gremlins game for my Apple 2c. Loved it. A great game. Great gameplay. Cool graphics. Similar in a way to Robotron but different enough.
  8. I heard Keith talking on an episode of Intellivisionaries about getting around the Tron license by changing the Recognizer to an X shape. Does that mean Deadly Discs will be included?
  9. See I wouldn't mind that option. If I buy the system and then decide I do want the full overlay set if I could go on ATGames site and buy it separately I would be cool with that.
  10. I'll stick with scummy. essentially if I want the "full package" ATGames are making me shell out for 2 units. That's scummy biz in my book.
  11. Yeah and I have to find a Dollar General in my area for the bonus game (aka original baseball.)
  12. that's a little annoying to be releasing different versions to different retailers. I get why they do it. Just find it a little scummy. Just release one version with 15 sets of overlays and a bonus game to all retailers and call it a day.
  13. thanks intvsteve….. i knew they were really old files and figured since a lot of older software doesn't work on newer macs that these probably won't even if I do figure out a way to extract the actual files….
  14. After listening to the Beauty & The Beast episode of Intellivisionaries I was reminded of those free Intellipacks you could download. I had them on my PC years ago but now I'm running an iMac I bought last year. I downloaded the mac versions but when I double-click on the files (.hqx) all it does is make a copy with the extension .cpgx. Anyone have any idea how I can get these to run on my mac? thanks
  15. it's tempting Paul…. I still am dying to give that d2k a run.
  16. Hey cmart604, I'm steve from the episode. Glad you enjoyed my conversation with Paul. I haven't had a chance to listen yet so don't know exactly what he used but it was a blast doing it…..
  17. Yeah, "Infiltrate" was pretty bad too. I remember seeing that box behind the counter of a Drug Fair and it was only $9.99 (must've been 1983 or 1984) and I really wanted it for some reason. I finally got it and I have to agree with you, it was nothing special. Nothing special at all.
  18. Has to be "I Want My Mommy" which, I'm embarrassed to admit, I bought for like $4 from the giant Kay-Bee toy store bin o' video games back in the day….. it was bad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaRv8g_pA-4
  19. Pitfall 2 was by far the best game I ever played on Atari. One of the best I've ever played on any system.
  20. I had that book back in the day. Actually I still might….
  21. I'm fairly certain the Coleco Donkey Kong came out in the Fall 1982. I remember pretty vividly the day. I pre-ordered it from Camera Video Showplace (dig the name of that store?) I got the call that it had arrived but had to wait until Saturday when my mom could bring me there to pick it up. I was so excited. Got home and popped it in and…. was so disappointed.
  22. I already had Intellivision and loved it. But in 1982 when Coleco came out with the Gemini I got one for Christmas. It's interesting to me that I didn't go for the Colecovision to "upgrade" from Intellivision. But I think it was hard to argue with the amount of games that were out there for Atari. Sure, a lot of them were horrible. But I'm sure that was my thinking. Go for the system with tons of games to choose from. I certainly enjoyed the Gemini. Loved that the paddle and joystick were one controller. I remember playing Joust, Crystal Castles and Mario Bros for hours. Sure, looking back they might not seem too impressive. But at the time, they were great. (oh, and yup, I'm new to this forum….)
