  1. So i switched Ubuntu from ALSA to OSSv4 and now CoolCV (the linux version) works properly on my PC Wine is not compatible with OSS but i did try CoolCV.exe again with Wine and i noticed it does the same thing than what it did on Linux : Fades from white to black and then nothing. Wine was spamming my terminal with the fact i had no sound devices. I think you should handle errors better (even for the Raspberry Pi) than just having a black screen : some error reporting would be nice. Anyway, it works now and it runs fullspeed, pretty cool emulator !
  2. Has anyone managed to run CoolCV on Ubuntu ? Because I am unable to run the linux versions, both 32-bits and 64-bits version on Ubuntu 16.04. Both versions fade from white to black and then absolute nothingness : it freezes. Using GDB does not tell me much, apparently it's stuck at nanosleep. (does it sleep for way too much ?) I was able to run the Windows version via Wine but it's pretty slow on my AMD FX. For comparison, i compiled MAME for my processor and it's able to run Colecovision games fullspeed unlike CoolCV. (Too bad MAME does not support Megacart games...) I sadly can't do that, nor that i can fix my Linux issues myself, because CoolCV is closed source, which is extremely disappointing. What's causing the freezing ?
  3. VideoGamePerfection can perform repairs on 3DOs : https://www.videogameperfection.com/products/3do-repair-service/ You should contact them first before sending it in though. (i don't know if they repair the drive's laser)
  4. When you can try it out, let me know if this works on real hardware ! Optimus told me the old versions were not working on real hardware so i've pushed a new update that should fix the lockup. (also, i have fixed the slowdowns. it's very smooth now)
  5. I guess one could buy the USB Host controller for FZ-1/FZ-10/Goldstar and plug a USB DVD drive to it but it would require adding support for external drives to the controller's firmware... But if such thing gets added in the future, it would increase reliability while still allowing people to use retail discs. That's a shame because replacement lasers are rare and expensive. Maybe you can convince the guy behind it to add support for external drives.
  6. Evil Australians is a small game i made for the 3DO, Sega Dreamcast and PCs for the Ludum Dare MiniLD. It's a platforming arena game made from scratch with the help of my own library, Gameblabla's Wrapper. The game has several missions and in each mission, you are stuck in an arena where you must defeat all the remaining enemies. To defeat the enemies, you have a rapid-fire gun that can shoot several bullets at the same time. There are 4 missions in total. Story John, living in Australia, is an avid video game collector. However, he learns from the news that the Australian government is soon going to ban video games. John became furious : he grabs his weapons and swears vengeance on the government. However 7 years ago, the government collected his own DNA as part of a secret project. This secret project allowed the government to steal DNAs from all the aussies. The Government learned of John's plan and they used his DNA to build an entire clone army of himself. John is now facing an entire army of himself, will he make it alive and finally kill the law ? Download 3DO Source code The 3DO port was almost never going to happen... but thankfully, i made a breakthrough and found a way to reuse CELs without reloading them ! Unfortunately my game is CPU-intensive and not very well optimized so it's a bit slow... Hopefully i can improve this in the future.
  7. Hello, i am working on Gameblabla's Crappy Compilation : a compilation of my 4 3DO Games on one disc ! This compilation works on all 3DO consoles, except the early Goldstars. (perhaps because Goldstars are looking at the CD's manufacturer ?) The 4 games are... Unlucky Pony A game for the NEO Compo 2013 that was improved since then. (No idea if the judges liked the game or if they even bothered to test the game) Hinote the delivery man My first 3DO Game back when i first released it in February 2013. Helicopters A full clone of Swing Copters. KillMinds Based on Quartet and SuperKillMinds. So yeah, nothing fantasic or AAA-grade, just simple games. I also intend to make physical copies with a manual, case... Let me know if you are interested in a copy. If you want to have an idea how they play, you can download it here
  8. Hello everyone ! Crazy Bird is my own take on Flappy Bird. The game can scroll vertically (making the game more difficult) and it also has a multiplayer mode. In Multiplayer, Player 2 simply controls the scrolling (Up,Down or Fire) while Player 1 controls the bird. Tell me what do you think about it Legal stuff here EDIT : Added some music and fixed some bugs. I have also included the labels for the game.
