I kinda want it but would much prefer an option for a standard Cardboard Box akin to all my other Jag titles? Is this the same sort of case Madbodies shipped in or is it purposefully for Jag Carts? (i.e. Madbodies had a foam insert 'fashioned' for Jag Cart use instead). A clamshell wouldn't stop me buying the game but it will be a giant pain in the arse storage wise vs the storage I use to store all my regular cardboard boxes!

Ugh! So gutted I missed this. A guy from the Museum of Gaming (older guy with a beard) came through to the Traders Hall to photograph the Jag games I had for sale (to send his friend, who wanted them) on my stall and told me you had been and gone, exhibiting Rebooteroids and Xenon 2 for Jag. He gave me a printout of the Green card you posted earlier though, which was cool of him. Would have loved to have tried these but, was pretty busy saleswise on Saturday so had no time to spare. I did manage to squeeze a game in on that HOTDead cab though

This is a good point. I can't think of one off hand, but one will probably exist somewhere. Even NeoGeo controllers don't cost anywhere near that much...

Isn't Osmosys a beta version of Yopaz Icestar by Orion?

Finally got my Hands on the Pro controller and Zero 5
NeoGeoNinja replied to Scorponok's topic in Atari Jaguar
Scorponok is upset because not everyone here in the Jag forum, is an Atari/Jaguar apologist. This is unfortunate. Please go forth and enjoy your self-perceived 'exclusivity whilst, most of us here, already have complete Jag Cart collections (before the likes of 'collectors' came on board and falsely inflated prices due to delusional perspectives on gaming) and have, for DECADES, accepted and played the Jag for what it is: the good, the bad and the ugly. Please don't come on here all condescending, telling us that we mustn't have played x, y & z games and imply we need enlightening. Also, it's not $2ks worth of games... certainly not back when I bought them. Noob... -
If I had less than 20posts and no dedicated avatar, I'd probably want to go on all the lists as well. Damn...

Sounds like the exact voice of authority we need creating books about the Jaguar

No. Just today I stumbled across this on another forum I frequent: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIE-HARD-ARCADE-SEGA-Saturn-Boxed-Complete-Rare-Near-Mint-/191839549974?hash=item2caa873a16:g:dvAAAOSwnTJW~hLY The bubble is increasing. Not cracking...

Get the PS1 version if you can. It plays so much better. Raiden on the Jag is fine if the Jag is the only platform available to you to play a version of Raiden, but if you have a PS1, PS2 or PS3, you're better off looking for a copy of The Raiden Project for PS1. It's excellent!

Xenon II - Megablast! (Bitmap Brothers) - Jaguar Port
NeoGeoNinja replied to CyranoJ's topic in Atari Jaguar
Oh yeah. Forgot about the robo-dude. Ok... point taken. Just this once... -
I listed as: 1. Cybermorph 2. Trevor Mc Fur 3. Raiden 4. Dino Dudes I know. I picked Trevor > Raiden. But then, I really don't rate the port of Raiden on Jag, if I'm honest. It's slow, runs at a shoddy framerate, fire rates are off, doesn't inc. an auto fire, visually muted and lacking the beautiful details that make Raiden so amazing to behold in the first place. It's a very average port, but Jag 'thusiasts still wax lyrical about this not-all-that-great version. As much as PPL bitch about Trevor, it was much more technically accomplished. Shame it's plagued by that shitty 'kiddy' level (WTF decided to design or even include that?!), a lack of in-game music and overly lengthy levels. On the whole, gameplay is alright, framerate solid, visuals are decent overall and the weapon select system is pretty neat too once you get the hang of it. Still a victim of no autofire though

Xenon II - Megablast! (Bitmap Brothers) - Jaguar Port
NeoGeoNinja replied to CyranoJ's topic in Atari Jaguar
Cyrano: Are you looking to try and implement some sort of bolt-on Rapid Fire function? As we all know, playing Raiden, TMcFur and Zero5 without it is an exercise in futility! Just a thought (i.e. press #1 to turn rapid on/off). Great work btw. Glad to see the enthusiasm burns intensely for this one. Look forward to seeing the official Jaguar Packaging/Label. That's always my fave part oddly, seeing it go 'official', if you will... -
This behaviour right here... I presume, to order this game, you have to be a member here at Atari Age to have visibility of the game and it's pre-order/order window? Pretty shady practice - hiding in the shadows, placing your order, receiving the game, then selling it on eBay for $$$'s. At least, I think it is...

Thought, just for the "lulz", I would add a link to the Supercross 3D vs Club Drive vs Checkered Flag thread I made 18 months ago. Anyone who missed it first time around can feel free to cast their valuable vote to the poll http://atariage.com/forums/topic/226883-which-is-your-cartridge-only-based-3d-racer-of-choice/page-2

Pretty sure it's actually a port of a port unfortunately. Ported from the PC version by Imagitec.

I have no idea what this means (as haven't been here all THAT long), however, what I will say is: f*ck me... get your "SPECTRUM-o-meter" out for the lads!

Any chance, anyone with the capability could throw up some screen shots of this stuff for us to look at? Would be cool to see this stuff as art assets, out of context

Get Dr Typo's Tube S.E. (along with Marcus' great OST!) commissioned for a full cart release already; with box, manual and the lot! Seriously. That would sell. Hell, it should exist already!! I will say, I think the front end (i.e. Title Screen) could use some refinement, just for presentation purposes, but if we got a cart unchanged from the Jag CD versions, I would NOT complain. Quite the opposite in fact...

Dreamers' corner: Did Jaguar show full potential, or not?
NeoGeoNinja replied to Atlantis's topic in Atari Jaguar
LOL! -
I see this a lot from many a Jag fan. AVP was really ever flawed as such. At the time, off the back of playing Super Street Fighter II on my SNES and Gunstar Heroes on my Mega Drive, specifically as a console-only gamer, AVP was a massive leap in every respect. It's only 20 years later, as the genre has moved on, AVP - in terms of gameplay etc, just hasn't aged as well as some of its contemporaries (Doom, DN3D etc). It was unreal back in the day.

What is the single-most factor that keeps you interested in the Jaguar?
NeoGeoNinja replied to Austin's topic in Atari Jaguar
I've just been looking over Austin's question more closely (what is the single-most factor that keeps you interested in the Jaguar ... OR ... participating in the community?) I now realise I am 50% split down the middle between: 'Playing games comes first for me, and I enjoy what the Jaguar library has to offer...' ... & ... 'Following homebrew development and new releases piques my interest the most and is what keeps me active.' The GAMES bring me coming back to my Jaguar time and time again. I have a special respect for the console that a small number of us have - as that intermediate console that came between the 16-bit era and the upcoming 32-bit era of PS1 & Saturn. I had (have!) no special attachment to Atari WHATSOEVER and, tbh, could care less about them as a games company (sorry). Simply, I had the Atari Jaguar at that specific time and, at that time, it was a big leap for me (and my friends who played my Jag) before moving on to my PS1 & SAT in 95/96. I feel, because I experienced that Jag at that important time, amplified by my age (12/13yrs), it built a special relationship with the machine outside of fandom for Atari or their history leading up to the Jaguar. The Jaguar, opportunistically, came out of thin air for me at the right time. I'm so glad to have experienced it when it had relevance, for me. HOWEVER... It's the chit-chat that goes on here and the promise of new up and coming projects and titles that keeps me coming back here to keep in touch with what's going on in the community. It's rarely to talk about the existing Jag games catalogue itself. It's very difficult to have open-minded and objective discussions about the Jaguar and it's library, here on AAge. So much bias and passion for the console undermines a proper chat about it's capabilities and it's library. And that's fine. I'll just let people have their "Jag had best version of 'this' game" or "Jag could have handled 'that' game" discussions but have very little to add myself without being classed as a hater. I really do just take the Jag at face value and appreciate it from that perspective. I have my own reasons for loving the Jag, but it's firmly rooted in reality and is coated with nostalgia for the most part, having great times with the machine over half my lifetime ago(!!). Also, being older (etc) now, I have been able to slowly add Jag games to my collection that I didn't have originally. It's been an educational journey. I've acquired 'those' games I wish I had known about and owned back in the day (Super Burnout, PowerDrive Rally, Ultra Vortek) and also acquired those that slipped through the net I would have been better off leaving well alone (Checkered Flag, Double Dragon V, Fight for Life etc). Sure, there have been disappointments but there have been moments of being pleasantly surprised too. Such is the nature of the beast that is the Jaguar... (Copied and Pasted from Page 1... as I hate having my response as the LAST post of Page 1, after all, who's gonna read it??!) -
Maybe it's just me, but surely, a Component OUT mod for the Jag, or any other console, cannot be compared with an Upscaler like the XRGB? Even IF you achieve Component out, it won't be at HD resolution and will STILL need to be upscaled to look decent? No? I run my Wii via Component on my Viera and, unless the developer has opted to go for simplistic 2D or Vector style 2D visuals, then the visuals look like ass. Especially prevalent when running previous gen titles via Wii VC on my Wii through Component. Surely Component will just lend itself to offering a cleaner signal to Upscale for modern TV units?? Or... have I got this all wrong?
