I opened up mine to have a look and compare it to yours.  Mine has the RF shielding, and the voltage regulator is bolted onto the pcb and has a heatsink underneath it. I would assume that yours has been worked on in the past and they haven't bothered putting the shielding back in or mounting the regulator.

Only found out recently that the PAL rom is slightly different to the NTSC rom on the first screen.

 

PAL rom doesn't have the sunset background or the 2nd boulder on the left (see my screenshot).

Finally played this today-

I wouldn't at all say I LIKE it, but, Jason, it does seem, like Garrett's games, "good" for a HSC, you do kinda want to keep trying, once you get the hang of trying to score.

Find a safe spot/corner you are comfortable working from, really only stray from there to grab the gun, this ain't Pac-Man, you don't gotta move around all the time, lol.

I'm sure there's more to it, but that should help some people. I like the corner just to the right, as you exit the...whatever the hell "homebase" is called in this.

It really sucks that you can't go back in there to hide, and no bullet replenishment when you die is completely bogus-I understand WHY, but it still sucks blueberries.

From my experiences with PAL atari 2600 consoles, the only difference i have seen when it comes to the RF module is whereabouts it's tuned into. 99% of Australian 2600 releases tune into low band VHF around channel 2. I've had a few UK consoles which tune in higher up on the low band VHF channels or even UHF.
