  1. Hi Tursi. thanks for the suggestion.. I am actually using PC99 on my Mac Pro under dosbox and it seems to work ok, some of my transfers are not working right.. what is strange is that when I use Mike Wright's RSECTOR and WSECTOR, the countdown from 030 until it hits 025 just stops and I can't seem to finish the transfer.. I don't know if this is a dos box problem or a PC99 problem.. in dosbox my setting is: serial1=directserial real port:tty.usbserial - I have 5 USB ports on my Mac Pro.. the usb-serial is connected to one of the back USB ports.. but when I go into PC99 under RS232, what is the configuration that I need ? I have it set up as RS232/1 Address: 3F8, and IRQ: 4
  2. Yes, but the TI cable is different.. not all pins are present like on normal, standard cables.
  3. On the 2010 Mac Pro its all USB ports.. 3 on the back and two on the front.. The RS232 cable I have is a TI CABLE.. one end connected to the RS232 card on the TI, the other end is connected to a DB-25 female.. and there is a DB-9 female which is connected to the 9-pin male USB-Serial... with that end being a USB - on one of the Mac Pro's USB PORTS.. Some new developements.. I got it to work, however I am seeing PC99 using TELCO sometimes not completing transfers.. in other words, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I am suspecting a bad pin possibly on my RS232 cable.
  4. Hello, I am in need of a new RS232 cable for my 99/4A which I can continue to transfer files to and from my mac to the 4A. Someone mentioned to just get a 24 pin cable, I tried that and it did not work.. seems TI's use a special cable for RS232. I am looking for at least two cables in case one breaks.. If someone can help, please let me know.. I tried LLConnor, but his email didn't go through.. I assume he is no longer available. Thanks.
  5. No, the cable is different.. less pins on it. a regular PC serial cable has 25 pins. TI I think has 7 or 9 and one on the bottom. Or maybe PC99 isn't recommended to run on a modern fast machine?
  6. Also, I was wondering if someone has an extra TI RS232 cable ? I took a look at my cable and it looks as if maybe one of the pins is bent a bit.. I just though I'd bring that up also.
  7. Hello, I am a current user of my TI-99 system and in the past I was able to transfer many files from my mac to my TI using PC99.. I finally decided to go for it again and all of a sudden the RS232 port is being skipped and when I try to run TELCO on the PC99 side, it stays stuck at a GREEN SCREEN and does not go any forward.. If someone has a MAC and PC99 set up, please let me know what parameters I am to put in the RS232 category under PC99 config.. Also, someone please let me know their dosbox configuration as I have a feeling this is the reason why its not working right. I have PC99 set up as 1 RS232 with it being COM 1 and using COM 1's address and IRQ.. but still it says its being skipped or can't connect to it.. How do I know on my mac pro which is com 1?? I have 3 USB ports on back and two on the front.. This is really annoying and also tried the same on MESS and MESS can't communicate with the RS232 port as well. Any and ALL help would be appreciated.. because I feel like throwing my systems out the window and destroying them if I can't get this done.. Yes, I have a very low tolerance for FAILURE.
