  1. To anyone that can answer this, does this look like it was mass produced? Meaning that there should be more than just 12 - 20 copies to exist.
  2. You gonna upload some pics too, Al?
  3. Yes, even Atari produced plenty of games without shrinkwrap. ..Al Pre-poster.
  4. Quick question: It's been a while, but were there 2600 games that were not sealed when new? If yes, that makes it more legit (because sealed games would have the sticker over the sealing, not the inside). One more thing: As a 37 year old, there were two types of kids in the 80's: Keepers and savers (who kept boxes and instructions). I was in the minority, and saved my boxes, so that certainly is possible. However, we box keepers (I kept my boxes on He-Man toys, GI Joe vehicles, you name it) almost always tried to peel the price sticker off. Hmm... Many games were not sealed. Many of them made by Atari even.
  5. Well, from my limited understanding of the situation, that seems to have been the case. However, after seeing this box, the name came from somewhere else, perhaps a previous owner of the game that lost the box and completely forgot how he knew the name or some crazy River Raid fan who dubbed it Air Raid, or the box is, indeed fake and meant only to raise our hopes of official recognition of the subject. I wondered about the name "Air Raid" on the box, too, but Mr. Galaxian pointed out that Terry Rutt stated in an article verifying that Air Raid was the name of the game. It's on page 3 of this thread (sorry, I don't know how to link to specific posts). Click the post # in the top right corner to get a post link.
  6. I still believe this is real, but did anyone notice his ebay ID?
  7. I believe this one, the slight wear on the edge of the box, the price sticker, the miss spelling is probably attributed to being printed in Taiwan.
