  1. Been away for awhile.  Two questions:
    1. Are the pre-order games shipping?  Store says they will ship in January...
    2. Is the Tyre Trax patch going to happen?
Hope ya'all are doing well in these crazy and absurd times!

  2. Any news on the patches for Tyre Trax?  I'm still waiting on mine and wondered if they have been made/sent out yet?

  3. Anybody else send for the Tyre Trax patch?  Mailed in my photo's January 12 and not heard back.  Wondering if my message went through or if I even sent it to the correct email?  sales@atariage.com?

I would have wasted another Halloween in the pumpkin patch waiting for The Great Pumpkin, but

it stormed pretty hard.   No tricks 'r treats for anyone here this year, unless they come this evening.

  6. Does anyone have working code for the Atari XE game system MMU?

  7. Anybody have a working Pokey Chip for an Atari XE game system for sale?

      SoundGammon

I have an extra 800xl that has been used for parts that has a Pokey chip on it!

  8. Well shoot, guess it's time to update my computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10 since support will be ending. :(

Updates like this scare me. I don't plan on updating anything. Ever.

If it were up to me I'd just leave it all on Windows 7. If it's not broken....but sadly, Microsoft will make sure it breaks and there will be no security updates so it would not be safe to continue using 7 online. Gotta keep that money wagon rolling by making sure apps will not work etc. etc. unless you upgrade. Gotta have my PC so I can buy new Atari games. pffft.

  9. I has sold-eth my 4 port Atari 5200, N64, Atari 7800 and now my sexy Sega Master System is up. Kinda sad but also realizing Imma never gonna play ALL these awesome games. Anyone else trimming down after realizing you just have too darn much?! :)

If you guys find purging cathartic, then it's all great and good, but remember that all this stuff is being bought by some other people :) Collecting will never "go out of fashion".

Although I wish I kept my CV games at least since the Phoenix is coming out. My damn hindsight sucks

  10. Anyone think they can repair this Gamecube system? If yes, PM me. If no, play "Military taps". http://atariage.com/forums/topic/283967-is-my-gamecube-beyond-repair/

  12. Always get the extended warranty on new TVs. Every one I have owned has blown up. Our new Sony Bravia 65" 4k TV just died (barely 1 year old). Been a month without parts and now Best Buy says we will have to exchange it for something else...sigh. So what new TV should we get that will blow up the second the warranty expires?

What about the rest of your electronics, things like computers in case you have desktop models, as well as routers and other delicate equipment. Do they last year after year, or do you have to replace the router yearly too when it has expired? Those indeed are consumables though if you would have issues with several kinds of devices, perhaps have an electrician come to look over your power.

No issues with any other equipment in the house. Computers, DVD players, Blu-Rays, crap piles of video game systems, etc.

THIS is my current paper weight: https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/news-item.pl?mdl=XBR65X930D&news_id=526 Too bad they don't have the parts to do the repairs with.

  13. Decided to show the neglected 3DO some love. Fired up Killing Time. Taking me forever to find all the keys! Pretty nifty game.

Not sure I would take it that far, but I always enjoyed the fast-loading Wing Commander IV ... especially with the Thrustmaster joystick.

      Huhuhuhuh, I said thrust

      Flojomojo

      WCIII that is.

Star Control II on 3DO is good ... Ur Quan Masters preserves it for everyone else. Free!

I know about - and use - UQM 0.7.0 with the 3DO audio files... but SCII on the 3DO still is one of the best games I have ever played.

  14. Are the Nintendo Switch games fully on the game cards? I'd like to think I could pull a game out and play without having to download content or connect to the internet in any way (like the vintage game carts)?

    1. masschamber

      masschamber

most do, some don't, doom doesn't have the multiplayer (but given you need online for multiplayer anyway), la noire, and the other 2k games don't have everything

  15. Considered selling one retro system to help pay for a Nes Switch. Thought maybe the SMS but now that I'm playing it I kinda like it! Might have to look at the Atari 7800 next...decisions decisions...

The atari 7800 is also a 2600. Waiting for mainstream VR to go down in price, like maybe PS5, before off-loading.

I'd not wanna sell a retro system to buy a Switch, but that's me...Maybe you've got something else you can sell?

  16. Just received Spies in the Night, Cave In and Anguna in the mail from Atariage. It's like Christmas! Gotta fire up the heavy sixer this weekend.

  17. Finally got around to playing Rampart on Lynx and NES. Simple, addictive game that gets frustrating in later levels. What similar type games do you guys/gals like?

    1. Flojomojo

      Flojomojo

There's nothing quite like Rampart, it's a weird hybrid of Tetris and Missile Command. I loved the Lynx version too, possibly more than the arcade and definitely more than the NES port.

The 2005 version of Pirates! has some ship-to-ship cannon-slinging combat that reminds me a little of Rampart.

    2. Jess Ragan

      Jess Ragan

The Super NES version of Rampart is more complex than the original. And I think Konami released a Japanese version of Rampart for Famicom that's wildly different from the NES version.

  18. I've been away for almost a month. Family emergency. I'm finally back and things are returning to normal. My apologies to anyone that tried to contact me. I'm not ignoring you, just unfortunate circumstances. Playing catch up..

  19. Anyone get their Space Cactus patch yet? Sent for mine the day I received the game (Dec. 26th, still awaiting a reply). Great game by the way. Highly recommend!

I haven't sent them out yet, but I will after I finish digging out from orders. There is light at the end of the tunnel! I have a spreadsheet with everyone who's already sent me their high score. :)

Awesome! No rush, was just curious and didn't want to be missed! Fantastic job on the box, manual and carts for this. Love it.

  20. beat silent hill, now on to silent hill 2...good games for around halloween time

  21. Playing Silent Hill on the original Playstation. Interesting game but those graphics make some stuff hard to see, especially in all that fog and volcano ash! :)

  22. Survived Hurricane Irma. Now I've got a wretched sore throat, coming down with something..ug. The yard needs a ton of work but guess it will have to wait till I feel better. Hope all the other Floridians made it back safe and sound.

  23. For those of you in Florida please be safe. Hurricane Irma is a monster. Be prepared to evacuate if you have not done so already. :(

Remember Houston? No evacuation because it was already too late to move 6 million people on short notices. If you can, take pets and irreplaceable items like photo and birth certs, insurance and title stuff, some clothing, and head out now. The sooner you go, the less chance of being stuck in freeways.

Little bit of lead never hurt nobody. I figure it will help lubricate my aging joints, just like it used to cushion valves in engines.
