  1. Activision carts added to sale/trade list above. Trades welcome, I need lots of common and uncommon carts...
  2. Considered selling one retro system to help pay for a Nes Switch. Thought maybe the SMS but now that I'm playing it I kinda like it! Might have to look at the Atari 7800 next...decisions decisions...

The atari 7800 is also a 2600. Waiting for mainstream VR to go down in price, like maybe PS5, before off-loading.

I'd not wanna sell a retro system to buy a Switch, but that's me...Maybe you've got something else you can sell?

  3. I'm having some issues with an Atari XE keyboard and I'm not sure what to make of it. It's one of those fold over Mylar jobs with the extra plastic piece in the center. I plugged it in and the only key that worked is the HELP button at the top. None of the other keys respond while in basic or in the keyboard test app. I took the keyboard apart and found that some of the traces were looking pretty corroded so I took some rubbing alcohol and cleaned the traces up best I could. I then took a multimeter and traced the, errrr..traces all around the board to make sure they had continuity. I specifically traced the space bar key and a couple others and they all tested ok. I plugged the keyboard back in and still nothing. Not one single key responds except the HELP button which takes me out of the keyboard test app. I expected that at least ONE key would work to at least let me know that the Mylar sheet is indeed the issue. Since I can not seem to get a response from anything other than the HELP button (which, ironically, is of no help - haha) I'm not sure what the issue is. I don't want to purchase a new Mylar insert if that isn't going to resolve the issue. Does anyone have any advice on what else I should try?
  4. Sifting thru my gaming books. Just added the "Art of Atari" to the collection. Any news on the "Atari Encyclopedia Volume 2" Mr. Slaton? I'd love to add it to my collection.
  5. Some sold. List updated. Still looking for trades as well.
  6. Correct, the resistors allow it to work with both the 7800 and the 2600. I guess I could build a single button controller for the 8 bit systems but it would be nice if I could just use the ones I already have. I just wasn't sure if those extra wires/resistors would cause an issue that could possibly damage an 8-bit machine.
  7. That is extremely shady. Thanks for the heads up on eBay. Always good to know who your dealing with (or not dealing with).
  8. Simple question for all you guru's out there. If I build a joystick according to the attached schematics (Atari 7800 controller), what computer systems would it be compatible/safe to use with? It seems it would work with Atari 8-bit computers (400, 800, 1200, XL, XE) and the Atari ST line. Commodore 64 Would it be safe to use on an Atari XE game system? I just want confirmation that it's not going to cause any damage to the systems. Thanks.
  9. Bummer as they had some Activision stuff I wanted but.... That combined with the message I sent to them regarding the error and received zero response. I love it when folks ignore your messages. *sigh Post your experiences ...
  10. That website is weird. It doesn't want to load correctly which makes me twitchy ;p Let us know if you find new joystick contacts and if you make new decals. I'd be curious to see how they come out.
  11. Clearing out more stuff. Too many projects piling up! Also downsizing my collection. Here is what I have so far: (SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MORE ITEMS) Nintendo controllers in box. OEM Two working OEM controllers in original box. Controllers have some scratches on the back and some small dings on the front edges. On one the back has started to yellow. $35 shipped. Atari Jaguar PCBs. Do not have beveled edge (but can be sanded down). $3 each (shipping not included). 5 in stock. USB zero delay encoder. NEW $8.00 (4 in stock) ACTIVISION LOT $65:
  12. Is anyone else selling the decals for these mini arcade machines or does the guy on eBay hold the monopoly on these? Has anyone replaced the tiny metal plates for the joysticks with something better (like a micro-switch)?
  13. Built this for Sega Genesis. I went with a Seimitsu joystick and Happ buttons with 50g microswitches.
  14. Send some photo's when you get a chance. I sent you a PM.
  15. I always thought the graphics in Kung Fu master looked pretty amazing for an older 2600 game.

  20. Activision games are known for being difficult. As said, clean the edge connectors really really well. I find I often have to pull mine in and out of the system several times before I can get some of them to boot up. Some are easier than others. Good games, bad thin boards...grrrrr.
