  1. Erhm ... RMT 128 Patch 8 is especially computed for 15 kHz mode. The sawtooth / triangle table is tuned into the 15 kHz table.
  2. Anyway, sorry for all. I gave it a wrong name: "rescaling". All the time I mean "note transposition".
  3. Nice to hear some progress. Also the chromatic scale has a far better approximation in case of the arpeggios. Now I heard that only the arpeggio notes must be corrected. And still all kinds of correct rescale is needed. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/235449-rmt-128-patch-8-programming It says that RMT distortion 4 is used for PoKey plain distortion 10, but at 1.79 MHz in both voice 1 and 3 to generate sawtooth or triangle. This scale is a bit restricted. More should be possible if the RMT tables was larger, but also the sawtooth / triangle table gets less quality.
  4. I changed my mind. The Original C64 tune sounds great. Here listen part 1: I'd like to have a try to start from the ground, doing my version. The MOD version on post 9 here, ported to RMT, sounds different. It was a global rescaling at least. @ emkay I don't get how you got different effects w.r.t. each instrument, talking about rescaling. If f.e. voice 1 and voice 2 got a different rescale w.r.t. each other, then it gets automatically dissonant. This is what I mean: it gets out of tune w.r.t. each other. Removing all the rescaling, then it won't be out of tune.
  5. I'm sure this version 3 tune can be far better, even when using RMT. - Most of the notes are in the wrong key, so no really 'out of tune', just rescaling needed - Still: use RMT patch 8 to remove 'out of tune' distortion 2 and 12 at 1.79 MHz mode for high notes This is needed to correct the 'in tune' arpeggios. But the instrument sounds still get more and more interesting for this stage 3. Like I wrote already: I don't like this tune, mainly because it's more than 4 minutes. I'd like to take part for a new tune, but only 50 seconds at max. I don't have much time. So, again, let's find another SID or MOD tune to make a new try.
  6. Who cares? His PoKey techniques are very interesting. Rescaling problems are not easy for emkay. But IF the notes themselves are relatively dissonant, then automatically the interesting PoKey techniques are useless??? And @ emkay: ONLY RMT patch 8 gives the solution to use 15 kHz mode for playing deep clean 8-bit bass and bariton, and playing correct distortions 2 and 12 at 1.79 MHz mode, for far more correct high notes. Let's find another SID or MOD tune to make a new try. I don't like this one.
  7. ? .... that's not the point
  8. No, this is not the main consequence of this topic. Pseudografx started the fire, just to derail the topic. Isn't it easy to ignore him from now on? About the PoKey version of the "Ocean loader" tune, by emkay: • emkay HIMSELF already agreed that the notes of this tune are not totally correct • analmux introduced a first solutions (listen loader0.xex): rescaling some parts and use distortion 12 at 1.79 MHz mode for arpeggios • pseudografx is just spitting on the dissonant tune: hello everyone, look at the shit! • Poison is just spitting on the dissonant tune: hello everyone, look at the shit! • ... Sounds clear: the CZ guys are only destructive. These guys didn't give an alternative solution unfortunately.
  9. Then what do you think what's the cause of the out-of-tune song? Tell us all of you please, MaPa, pseudografx, Poison, ctirad ...
  10. And here's a nice PM from pseudografx to me: "Well, emkay is a difficult person. I believe you agree. His effort in finding what POKEY is capable of is respectable, but his comments to others' work are often lacking empathy. that is why I wanted to let him taste his own medicine."
  11. That's only your taste ... There are several courses for this difference. In fact many PoKey tunes, written by many people, are undergraded.
  12. @ emkay Poison and pseudografx were just telling evil jokes. In fact many people like many of your PoKey tests. But most people don't like your talking style, cowboy. It's still rather childish when people are making evil jokes. It's a fact that both the people nagging about emkay, but also emkay himself are joking. It's still unclear who started. Emkay once said that far in the past (> 25 yrs ago) other people were joking him first. I've met him a few times in real. In real life he doesn't have any evil-joke-personality at all. Just having a lot of fun.
  13. And here's a first try to rescale all the instruments and programming alternative arpeggios. And of coarse I was using RMT patch 8. loader0.xex
  14. @ pseudografx Thanks for saying you like instrumentarium. But we're talking about emkay's work here, not mine. Just telling him about your complaints, saying this one of his works sounds out of tune, is just plainly annoying and provocative. Positive (or at least helpful) comments are missing. And just rescaling can help a lot. Finally, doing a check of a MOD-2-RMT conversion shows that it already suffers with out-of-tune parts.
  15. B.t.w., using RMT patch 8 would be the final solution. MK, would you like to send me your rmt file?
  16. PG is spitting on you MK. I can't remember any positive comments from PG. @ emkay It sounds like a bad MOD -> RMT conversion. Just rescale one or more parts. Then it would sound better.
  17. See the link here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/235418-is-this-a-bot/
  18. So apparently it's still too easy to get an account.
  19. Do you mean PolyCounter bit patterns? Or what else? In what specific cases are you talking about harmonics? To my opinion RMT is a great tool to do some imports and use the song basics. I think it's the easiest way to play any .rmt files on a real A8 machine, and use a still not existing expanded tool to enable: (1) AUDF synchronization RESET & OFFSET (2) Polynomial Counter (LFSR) RESET & OFFSET (3) 2-tone filter (4) Add more 8-bit or 16-bit NOTE2PITCH tables as desired
  20. Indeed the '2-operator modulations' are interesting extra possibilities, and nearly no one uses this technique. The sawtooth wave approximation for example is a nice surprise for (very) low notes.
  21. Nice to finally hear Iron Maiden ("Aces High") played with digi PoKey!
  22. And another 128 colour GUI desktop. More than 10 yrs ago. "N" |-> "POS" => "liNux" |-> "liPOSux"
  23. Or what about this silly test? See more also here about RMT 1.28 Patch 8: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/234769-rmt-patch-8/ http://atariage.com/forums/topic/235449-rmt-128-patch-8-programming/
  24. Or at least an old try, f.e. the one we worked together:
