In all honesty, I found it a pain to get the INTV FB working with an HD TV. Not only that, but the picture quality looked like garbage. I decided to send my FB unit to Byte Knight and have him upgrade my FB to an ultimate FB. This will give you connectivity directly into HDMI as well as give you the opportunity to add more games to the unit. The picture quality is perfect and the game library is awesome if you have the roms to add. I highly recommend it!

#219 here. I think I need to go through my t-shirts (video game themed and concert shirts) to make room for this one!

They start shipping today!
When I ordered I got an email that said I would get another email when it was shipped. Has anyone out there received an email stating their shirt has shipped?

I just play them on a FB9 and NEVER get any interference... 😁

Same version of Stella as the FB9 means it doesn't run any different games with the exception the paddles work on it (allegedly). I'll wait until they upgrade Stella to run some of the more recent homebrews...

I didn't have one until recently when Ferg did a show on the game M.A.S.H. I enjoy the rescue mission type games.

Omega Race is my favorite CBS Electronics game. I didn't discover it until the retro gaming age. To me it's like a variation of Asteroids.

That is the definition of a game hack, which is what this is from version 1.

And Asteroids always sucked. Centipede! That was Atari's game!
Trying to get those awful images out of my head. Asteroids over Centipede any day! 😝

To me there is not much of a difference between a disk and a directional pad. Those that like the pad, but complain about the disk are just Intellivision haters.

As far as Apollo games go in my opinion...

I have no lag on mine. They work perfectly. Because they are wireless, I can sit on my couch to play. Its more comfortable than the floor. Of course you can use both and have the best of both worlds. Anyways the only bad thing about the FB9 that I can find is the way it handles paddles.

Based on what you are saying, the FB9 would be the best option. You can easily load games and play from an SD card after you upgrade with firmware. You can't use the paddles with it, but I've gotten used to it as I only cared to play about 5 paddle games. I don't miss them much as I play the arcade games more anyway.

Evil Otto disguised as a pumpkin? Could that be a clue Berzerk is coming to the Amico? 😁

Uh, no. Wireless joysticks is an upgrade because it increases the range. You are not limited to sit by the console. Have you tried the FB9 wireless joysticks? They are much improved upon the previous "line of sight" joysticks. The new ones uses a different technology that doesn't require you to point the joystick at the console like a remote control.

No HDMI cable, no wireless joysticks, no paddles, and they call it a "deluxe?!" 😄

If it were a masterpiece, wouldn't there be more clones and imitators?
My pick for first video game masterpiece would be Space Invaders.
Finally someone who doesn't refer to game as a killer app! You must have grown up with an Atari. 🙂

Thanks for this much needed upgrade of Venture. Has anyone tried it on the FB9 yet?

Using the same HDMI cable plugged into the same TV input. Also using the same Joystick. The ONLY difference is the Retron 77 vs. the Flashback 9.
The spike at 3.00 is the pressing of the fire button... after that is the sound of Pitfall Harry jumping.
The audio of the jumping sound on the Retron 77 plays .20 seconds after the button press.
The audio of the jumping sound on the Flashback 9 plays .37 seconds after the button press.
If you are complaining about less than a quarter second delay, I think that is being a little critical. Maybe that's why most people, including myself haven't noticed it. Do you experience any lag in the controller? That would be something which would make or break enjoyment of a game.

If someone can confirm that the Flashback X does not have any audio delay, then I'd gladly pick one up.
Went back and played it again and no delay on my end. Not sure if it could be a delay in your TV. Did you set it to "game mode?" Good luck!

I'll pass and stick with the FB9 Gold. For the few paddle games I'll miss, I think I'm content with it.

I have the FB9 Gold which is different from the version you show in the AtGames video. The video shows the regular version. So I can only speak to the FB9 Gold and say I have no audio delay issues with the firmware fix.
