Seems to me that the brand owner gets to decide how the brand name is used, right? :)

If the third Xbox can be called the Xbox One, saying Amico is also an Intellivision doesn't seem like a stretch.

If the owner calls the third xbox an xbox one, then I think said owner needs to go back to elementary school and re-learn numerical order! 😄

To be fair, boot times are a pain on many platforms, especially if you're then faced with update patches.

My Atari 2600 booted instantly. No logos even. My TRS-80 went from off to DOS command prompt in less than 10 seconds.

The thought never occurred to me.  The last console I bought was a Sega Genesis (after my Intellivision went kaput).  I'm glad I can right that by purchasing an Intellivision Amico! 🙂

I ran into another gamer today. When I asked her what her favorite console was, she said she had several consoles but mostly played mobile games because it was easier than turning on the TV ... just some field research for Tommy.

And I thought people were lazy for ordering online for McDonalds because they couldn't be bothered to wait for their order at a drive through for a fast food restaurant?! 😜

90% of my Intellivision gaming these days is on that thing. I love it!

I have one as well.  It definitely makes for great Intellivision gaming on an HD TV!  I will continue to use it until the Amico comes out, depending on which of the old games I can load on it.

Amico is not a Intellivision though :)

I disagree!  It is the next generation Intellivision made by Intellivision Entertainment.  It also has the Intellivision name on it, and it plays the old Intellivision games as well as the new ones they are putting out.  So it is not the old Intellivision, but it is a new version for a new generation. 😉

  5. I am looking for a list of games that are fun for co-op play (two players at the same time, not separately) on the Atari 2600 that use the joystick only (no paddle games please).  Here is what I have so far:

    Air-Sea Battle

    Armor Ambush

    Atlantis

    Basketball

    Boxing

    Championship Soccer

    Combat

    Combat II

    Football

    Fishing Derby

    Freeway

    Frogs and Flies

    Ice Hockey

    Incoming

    Joust

    Outlaw

    Real Sports Baseball

    Real Sports Boxing

    Real Sports Football
    Real Sports Soccer

    Real Sports Tennis

    Real Sports Volleyball

    Sky Diver

    Space Invaders

    Space Rocks

    Super Baseball

    Super Football

    Super Challenge Baseball

    Super Challenge Football

Any help would be much appreciated!

  6. With Tommy being generous lately by giving a game away and more information, maybe he will end up being the "Oprah" of video games: "You get one. You get one.  You get one.  Well, you all get one!" 😂 Just kidding!

Seriously though, my Dad and I played hockey all the time.  It would be fun to be able to play with four people at the same time!  I spoke to the wife and showed her the new website.  She was like "what's that?"  I told her that was the new Intellivision system I was talking about that is coming out in a year.  To engage her more in the situation, I asked her which color scheme she liked best since it will be going in our living room.  She liked the black & blue one the best because it looks modern.  That was the one I picked out because it reminds me of Tron!  So glad we agree on something! 😁

I don't want to spam too many threads with this, but for those with the skills, this is a hack to make standard paddles work with the Atari Flashback 9 (HDMI only) series should that be something you want to do. Standard paddles will be released soon for original Atari paddle-compatible systems and the Flashback 2 - 8, and X.

Hardware Mod to Support Standard Paddles on Atari Flashback 9 and 9 Gold:

    Bill,

For those of us who are not skilled with a soldering iron, will there be an option to buy compatible paddles for the FB9?  I don't understand why paddles are being made for all FB systems but that one, especially when it was publicized that AtGames paddles will work with the FB9 Gold.

Sorta.  By law people will be able to mail in chances to win prizes.  The RFID just makes it a LOT easier.  :)

That being said... no reason why you couldn't have a friend's phone enter you into the give-a-ways.  I'm feeling bad that you would need to spend additional money just to enter our give-a-ways.

I'm not in the know with techy stuff, but exactly how would you utilize the information on the card that comes with the t-shirt?  Is this basically downloading an app that will read the information?  Thanks in advance for the help!

  9. From past experience on the FB handheld, all I do is keep a backup folder of all my games on my PC or USB stick.  When I want to add a game, I add it to the backup folder, then I delete all the games on my SD card for the FB.  After that I select all the games in the backup folder and copy them to the SD card making sure I'm starting with the first file in the folder.  This method copies the files over in alphabetical order which will keep it in alpha order on the SD card when read by the FB system.  Hope this makes sense...

We're not going to be selling them individually... they will all be coming in "packs".  So you'll be able to get 10 original sports titles in the SPORT pack and the price will be around $5 for the entire thing.  So we're only talking around .50 per game.  Our goal isn't to make money on these titles... but more about keeping the legacy alive.

I'm thinking it would also be a huge logistic nightmare to try and figure out who originally bought something from 40 years ago without a receipt.  Just showing a pic of a cartridge wouldn't mean much.  What if someone stole a bunch of games?  Without a receipt, how would one prove that they were the originally purchaser?  And then they would need to show every game in the pack.  Easy to just pull pics off the internet.  If there's a way to "beat the system"... folks will find it.  Even if they are only saving around 50 cents.  :)

I'm hoping that the very low price is something that will appeal to the original Intellivision owners.  I feel that .50 is a great value to play those originals with a digital overlay and force feedback, etc.  :)

Just want to point out (so no one is disappointed on launch) that these are something we are looking to do after launch and after the machine has been established.  We don't want to confuse new consumers or have people think we're some AT Games pile of crap.  I put out a retro style trailer for the PRGE last year (a retro convention) and it's taken me over a year to try and convince folks that we aren't a retro machine.  I could easily see some in the gaming press or podcasters reviewing those experiences and saying how lame the machine is.  We all know the kind of "folks" we're talking about.   :)

Hope that helps to explain everything a bit more.

Curious to know your thoughts now that you know a little more.

p.s.  Here are 2 colored versions of the NEW logo in .jpg format... you gotta update your avatar!  :)

That's fair.  I would pay $5 for a bundle.  That makes sense instead of charging that much per game.  I'll try to change my avitar.  Thanks!

    Heard of Retron 77?

Retron 77: With upgraded community SD card image firmware

    1)  Runs Stella 6 so you can play Space Rocks and recent home brews

    2)  Has SD card so you can have unlimited games, plays all home brews

    3)  Has Stella 6 interface so it looks like your on a PC

    4)  Works with stock CX-30 paddles

    5)  Has cartridge slot so it play many original cartridges

    6)  Has a first rate joystick w/10ft cord

    No brainer

Uh, I've heard on several accounts that the Retron 77 does NOT work well with the original unmodified paddles.  It's been said on this forum you need to make some modifications for it to work.  The FB9 can play Space Rocks.  I've done so on mine.  The more recent homebrews like Galaga, I know the Retron has the edge there.  As far as the controllers that come with the Retron, it's been well advised to stay away because they brake after little use.  Also, the cartridge slot is very inconsistent.  I might have bought the Retron if it didn't have so many issues to begin with and that's why I ended up with the FB9.  If this paddle issue would be worked out fully on either system, I would feel better about that...

  12. Tommy, I have a question regarding the purchase of the legacy (original INTV) games to play on the Amico.  If we can prove we owned the Intellivision Lives and Rocks CD's, would there be a way made where we could download those onto the Amico either at no charge or at a discounted rate?  Just thinking it would be a shame to have to pay full price for these games a second time over.  Again, I am asking about this for the original Intellivision games only, not the re-imagined ones.  Thanks!
